Spent a weekend flying around South Wales, roads made for the Clio, fantastic twisties.
Anyways, first off was a Valver quickly followed by a Racing Blue 182 both heading over to England on the Severn Bridge at 8:45 Saturday morning.
Bit later on the M4 heading towards Cardiff (what a...
Lots of twisties around the South Coast, the Cup is in its element. Suprised there are not more local to where I am (Wiltshire) as its B road heaven here.
I dont see many, one Cup lives near Trowbridge College and another Cup is a few doors down from me in Westbury, but thats all I know of. Always a Cup at most action days at CCombe as well, hoping to add mine to that soon.
I drive past Platinum Renault 6 times a day in my Cup! Doesnt seem to be...
Its a £12k rocket that nothing else can touch brand new at that price. Bound to be loads about and rightfully so. Cant have it both ways. Its not as though we own Morgans or Marcos here, its a Renault. The success of RenaultSport and the consistently great cars is obviously going to mean more...
My point is though that 99.9% of people who see a Racing Blue 182 with "authentic" Renault Gordinis are going to think they are chav aftermarket mods anyway. It doesnt really make a difference to the majority of people. Only Mini Coopers seem to be able to get away with it.

He never said they were Gordini Stripes (and as you say, these would only be on the Racing Blue anyway), they are essentially just a couple of stripes, which is what he said!
I like them personally, especially over the bumper. After seeing some of the actual Gordini Stripe efforts on Racing...
How does it hold shopping though? Its barely off of the boot floor. I was under the assumption it would be higher up so it would fully support anything you put in it.
Only on here when the mrs is busy (teacher so she is always marking books and stuff), she is ok with the net stuff, was slightly concerned when I put the sticker in the back window ("what are you a fing chav?" lol) but finally thought it "looked nice". Next came the time when I told her I might...
Cheers just found it. I did put it there but it seemed very pointless so I figured it had to be somewhere else.
Feel like Ive wasted a few quid now, its useless!
Got a Cargo Net from Ebay today for my 172 Cup, damned if I know how to fit the bloody thing! Had less trouble putting my Carbon Splitter on a couple of weeks ago.
Any advice?! It has odd looking plastic clips in each corner but there doesnt appear to be a logical place to actually clip them...
Surely it wont feel a great deal different on an MWay though (apart from a harder ride), it comes into its own on the twisties, Im sure there must be some roads just outside of the M25 you can try it on, seems to be a fair few just South of Sevenoaks?
Has, I cant put my finger on why but your Clio has something very Mini Cooper about it. I mean that in the best possible way as I think the car looks very tidy, but a very quick look at the rear (first pic) sceams Mini at me and I dont know why.
Terrible news. I always try to think it could be worse, day before you are due to hand over the keys of your 172 to get the 182 etc. Still a horrible horrible thing to happen, I had a brick put through my back windscreen of my first Clio a few years back and it was parked on my drive, feel so...
Excellent news on Sainsburys, dont like paying 95p for Ultimate! I dont even have a Sainsburys local though, not as far away as the nearest Shell thankfully.
Reality check for me!
My Cup will be going when I buy a house (2 or 3 years), me and the mrs will be selling our cars and then depending on how well we are both doing we will both have something different.
She will probably get a Daihatsu Copen (got to say I love these, couldnt drive one...
Has this trial expanded yet? Cant believe they never did it at my local Tesco, firstly its one of the best performing Tescos in the country, and secondly we dont have a Shell garage for 25 miles in any direction, so no Optimax for all the rich people in sports cars around here.
I did notice...
Bit of an odd one this. Even though my Cup (18 months old, 10k) is perfectly fine on a daily basis today something strange happened.
I headed off for Castle Combe around 8:30am, roads were fantastically empty so I hammered it all the way after the car had warmed up. Nothing unusual really...
I parked near a Cup today at Castle Combe, A*52 *KK I think, big ClioSport sticker in the back, first one Ive seen a CS sticker not on my car!
Even closer was a tidy Dynamique (greenish blue colour) with some nice alloys. Followed this one a week or two ago through Melksham, dont think its...
Odd that you should say that as Autotrader doesnt show a single one in the country (trade or private) for £6k or less. Just shy of £7k are the lowest about but there are not too many at that price (3 I think).
No reason why a 53 plate for example wont still fetch good money in a year or two...
I test drove a few full fat 172s and Cups and couldnt feel any difference between them, both very very quick. I went for the Cup because Im not interested in luxuries (I dont even use the stereo) and preferred the Mondial Blue/Turnini effect to the normal 172.
Less is indeed more (especially...
