Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Really sorry to read of your issues :/ Guess that's the whole point of testing/track days before racing. Would have come round if had know and would have gladly tried to help (Live in Bangor, round corner from...
Not certain (need to check the blue book) but don't think you'd be allowed solid top mounts so the Pure Motorsport one would be out.
A strut brace will work provided there is need for extra rigidity there and that it is fixed appropriately, not with a couple of self tappers like a lot xD
Fitted the 182 cup dampers this afternoon and on initial test drive it's all a lot softer damped and that's about it. Still have the tram line/pulling, loose feel to steering.
Will take the springs off the Sachs tomorrow to have a proper look but no signs of leak. Fingers crossed they look...
Got my 182 cup dampers and old springs from Mam and Dads garage tonight so will swap them over Saturday hopefully. Easiest way to eliminate/prove its a damper issue. Then that'll give me chance to take everything off the Sachs to see the piston shaft.
This had been concern with mine. Know one lad on here had his refurbished after mine and they lost pressure soon after. Have checked them for leakes and 'bounced' the corner and both seem as solid as the day when they were done.
One issue I found though were with the adjusters. They had been...
Not checked, only really looked at rear alignment since you pointed thrust angle in other thread. But they were replaced last summer.
Front tramlines and pulls more than it used to and steering feels vague at times. This much more apparent on rough and uneven roads. Which makes sense with what...
Agree with you deffinately not sole problem or tbh a big factor at all because there has been a differance there since 1st alignment I had done on car 4 years ago, not to the extent it is now. Rear has been mechanically checked for play and wear. Just want to get everything spot on so a 10min...
Thanks. The pdf for settings I had states a -ve toe on rear (which is wrong) Will look at shimming the right to get it closer to +ve 10min I need.
Thanks Jengis and Jack_Davey
Am I right in saying the below setting are correct for a Cup 182/Trophy?
FRONT
Camber: -0.45'
Caster: 3.00'
Toe: -0.06' (Total: -0.12')
Steer ahead: 0.00'
REAR
Camber: -1.30'
Toe: -0.10' (Total -0.20')
Thrust Angle: 0.00'
From above printout. Obviously I run more front -ve camber but am I...
Hadn't noticed the thrust angle and toe on the rear, too focused on the front. Driver side a lot more than pasanger, regardless of if that's issue i've got that needs to be sorted. Thanks
