Car's back today, only got one picture as its dark. This used to be the brake fluid reservoir.
Looking into a donor car as I could do with a few things. Anyone with a sub £500 172 Cup with a working engine let me know. Accident damaged etc is fine.
Also my 200 Gordini wheel is for sale with the changes to spec that are planned. Would be interested in swapping it with something suitable for track use. http://www.cliosport.net/threads/clio-200-gordini-steering-wheel.762938/
Cheers, I'm happy I'm getting it back.
Found a Laguna II V6 earlier. Not the most special car on the planet but might be worth a punt. She's just a bit unsure on the auto box. I prefer the build quality and interior on the facelift but they're a bit more money.
So today the insurance company confirmed my suspicions and the 172 has been written off. It's a shame but it was inevitable, there goes my 11 years of not claiming on insurance. That's not the end of the car though as it's being delivered back to me on Thursday :smilingimp:
The plan is to strip...
Possibly mate, thankfully the coilovers I got from you were unharmed along with the Brembos. Will try to figure it out properly tomorrow.
How's your clan or Renaultsports?
Today was supposed to be the day that the 172 was back with me with everything done after over two months of niggles. The lambda was changed, but we actually found it to be a faulty plug. It was due in at SC to have the servo done and a couple of new tyres.
After the MOT, while the car was...
Still presuming it's the servo, may never get to the bottom though as there was a small-ish fire in the car and the servo, MC and a few other bits are a bit hot and melted. Good luck with solving it :disrelieved:
Has anyone done it with a 172 in the £1,000-£1,500 price range of late. If so how much did you have to pay to get the car back? Early days yet as my insurer doesn't know about the damage but need to have a chat with them tomorrow. Trying to decide whether fixing it is feasible.
I've had/got a similar problem. The only thing it can be now is the servo, changed everything else. It's in the garage on Tuesday again so I'll let you know how I get on. Wasn't my master cylinder or ABS pump.
I've seen a few done but seem to remember there being issues with the electrics. Was something along the lines of the ABS light or getting the clocks to work properly.
Wish I could take on this as a project. Sadly the wife won't have it for her daily 😞

I haven't found them that way so far as I've not been able to push it due to other niggles. Found it fine on the crap roads around here though in normal driving. They do have adjustable damping though on the rear and it's on its softest.
I was going to go Cup shocks and Eibach/Cooksport springs but picked a set of Gaz coilovers up second hand, freshly refurbished. Been happy with them so far.
