Having a read about seems the issue has got to be either the master cylinder, abs pump/module or servo. From what I gather the 182 cup doesn't have a compensator. Is there anymore components on the 182 cup system I haven't mentioned above that I'd need to check?
Car is still pulling hard right under braking after fitting 4 pots. Changed all the hard lines to copper from the master cylinder, changed all the flexies braded on the front OE on the rear. Fluid transfer seems fine when pressure bleeding the system. Calipers pistons and slider are free. Even...
Just wangled a full weekend pass and hotel stay for this years Silverstone GP, anyone else going? Never been to a GP before, should be a great weekend.
Front: Compbrake 4 pots with 295mm discs, DS3000 pads and braided lines.
Rear: Renault OE discs, pads and lines.
Fluid: ATE superblue
The above set-up is pointless on road tyres, needs R compound tyres to benifit from the additional stopping power.
Had yellowstuff on my fat 6 MPS (1700kg) at...
I'm there with a pal as additional driver. Can't wait, getting the car back tomorrow with reconditioned 4 pots and DS3000 pads and can finally fit the OZ/Sparco 15s with R888s as well.
Defo, don't know why manufacturers feel the need to add crap. As you say the Golf R is perfectly styled. Not to OTT but you know its a flyer with the quad exhausts. I loved the style of my old pre-facelift black EP3 and still miss it....
Love the old CTR's up until the FN2 where it all started to go wrong, this latest version is just stupid, belongs on a Maccies car park. I'd much rather a Golf R, but if I had £30k to blow it'd be on the new stang 2.3 ecoboost.
Perfect choice, I was looking for a S60 D5 in the same spec with tow bar before I rushed into buying the Mondeo, test drove 3 D5's and they all had issues so bought the Ford instead. Now contemplating trading it in as I miss my old S60 D5 so much....mostly miss the seats TBH.
You're gonna get a shite German barge for £3k and a potential money pit. The Volvo V70 is a brilliant tow car for light tow work like a Clio and car transporter, MPG is poor though and you'll struggle to get 30mpg whilst towing, <40 without. If I was you I'd go for a EU3 manual. I have a Mondeo...
I've recently had injector issues, changed everything as OP suggests in first post to no avail but had no EML light but could tell the car was running on 3, Renault 'specialist' couldn't get into the fuel rail tables using CLIP so just pulled the rail guard of and pulled each injector...
I picked up a 04 Titanium 182 FF with 101k miles in good condition with 12 months MOT for not much more than your budget, it did need some work though which has cost around £300 (done myslef) so it's not unrealistic on your budget. Trawl all car sites daily and one will come up in a few weeks...
Anyone ever had wheel hub run out? If so what symptoms did you experience apart from the obvious vibration through the wheel?
I'm having a nightmare with this Mondeo with it pulling left and anything above 50mph the car's steering wheel (not the car) shakes like mad. Tried rotating all 4...
I wouldn't use F1's for a track day, this is my nearside front after 10 laps of 3 sisters (clockwise track), albeit on a heavy AWD car. F1's are very soft for track use on any car if pushing hard, I found this out the hard way.
Defo the RS3's, got them on my ST and in the dry they're tosh, like jelly compared to the PS3's they replaced. Get some cheap spare wheels with track tyres on, that way you have wets and dry's.
Seems the part that's playing up is the ABS module, plus one of the rear brake hoses isnt giving enough pressure. Really missing the car now as this Mondeo is also playing up with it pulling and vibration through the wheel, it's annoying me.
When braking hard in a straight line it drags the car to the right and makes the rear left come around on its self. If braking on turn in it would cause spin out no doubt. What do these cars have to regulate the brakes? It's it a servo as above? And is it attached to the bulk head as that's...
OK so my car has been of the road for weeks now due to a braking issue with newly fitted used compbrake 4 pots. The car will just not brake in a straight line and has far to much front bais making it seriously dangerous, calipers have been serviced and flow tested and are fine, so it's something...
Presume this is just a mid section (cat - silencer)? If so just I'd just go with the unsilenced. I had a unsilenced supersprint cat back on my ep3 and it was fine. If you have no cats and uprated header it maybe to loud though?
Just go down mate, what's the worst that can happen, they give you a high price? Once they'd fitted mine I wasn't happy how loud it was (very loud) and they changed the back boxes free of charge.
