Fuel pressure is constant, ragging it wont 'blow out deposits'.
Funnily enough, i've always seen the general case where cars that are totally abused tend to give next to no problems. Ones which are lavished with care and pootled about in are the one that always have problems.
Stock sump has a baffle and windage tray, you wont experience any problems, maybe the odd flash of low pressure on a really really high G long corner. But in most cases, the average driver doesnt push that hard.
Mark,
sound measuring is a funny affair, one which i constantly have jibs with marshalls about.
Firstly their sound meters are hardly ever calibrated so no idea how accurate they are. And they also never take into account temp, humidity, baro pressure. This results in an exhaust...
Hopefully all goes well in the next few weeks time scale wise, as its all very tight at the moment.
But it will be back and better than ever, there are a few tweeks, adjustments and a few large changes. I think you'll be very happy even with the wait when you get it back Craig ;).
The efficiency of a hole is greatly affected by the design of the lead in and taper behind. Typically following the shape of a venturi with a showllow taper downstream and a bell mouth radii entry.
With a hole, flow is all about reducing any pressure differential across the hole. A bare pipe...
Typically well sized piping that is the same size of the TB OD is more than sufficient, bends so long as they are made well, also do not really affect things.
The typhoon doesnt look like too bad a solution, would like to try one.
That style of intake is highly effective on 10,000rpm hondas.
Yes, roller resolution is a factor, and in most cases 2bhp is a typical acceptable leeway between 'identicle' runs.
But hey, there is no 'absolute' measurement around, so we do the best with what we can.
All depends how much 'boooooost' your wanting to run.
Low boost, a modified combustion chamber and stock engine will drop CR to about 9:1
But if your planning on running anything like 1 bar then i would run some forgies minimum.
You might be able to use the turbo varient F4R ex...
HKS filters are total rubbish. But if you have ever been to japan you will soon realise their mentality. Brand name has everything to do with it. If its new or fancy or made by a big name manufacturer, they will use it, irrespective of the fact that its crap.
Plus, all their cars run turbos...
That is PRECISELY my point.
You net the gain as its a new clean filter and it has a nice cool air source.
Close the bonnet and put on the horrible air feeds and its not really the same.
Then you get the guys who start dreaming of ram air.
Viper is ok, not great and not the best.
Problems are:
- Tiny filter area, i can just get my fist inside. Sure its not paper so doesnt need as large a surface area, but compared to the maxogen, its about 40% less. If you look further, filter area on the 'sides' isnt utilised that much, so...
Dont worry, i can see what nick is doing.
In some cases it can work and bumping the fuel pressure can work at the top end alone because the ECU will regulate all closed loop areas. If only a small amount of fuel is needed, then it can quite easily work.
