Looking great Phil!
Although that loom brings back nightmares lol. Think it looks weirder than when in Guppy's due to the lack of battery ...
Can you not refit the sunvisors? I still had mine in the saxo even when it was all stripped out.
I'm not gonna lie Ollie, my eyes hurt looking at that thing.
Although to be fair, you need a flat bottom wheel to fit your gangly limbs in behind it :race:
Renault told me i needed to change the sparewheel on my 182 as the tread was illegal
Needless to say, i asked them to show me before parting with any cash ...
I can safely say that i've been waiting for this thread for 3 years. Doesnt disappoint so far either!!
Although i am slightly disappointed that you had a life before FailSport, i thought we completed you :o
Anyways, enough sentiment, more pics & story required, i need something to read at...
Yup, the rear Sachs are pretty soft in comparison, hence the addition of the Whiteline is such a good mod on the Trophy - really helps tighten up the rear. In addition, if you have rear adjustables, you can also start to play with the damping on the front to suit your own handling...
Same. Hence why i still have the clio !!
In addition, when you find yourself owning a much much faster/better car than the clio, you soon realise why the clio is so awesome in the 1st place.
Its not massively quick, but it is massively fun at lowish speeds, so actually the enjoyment is...
Is it though? Really. You forget, i've been there, done that & got the T-Shirt, hence the advice.
In fact, i had a wail of a time scraping the doorhandles off your cup at the 'ring, with just a set of DS2500's ;)
A standard one for £1500, £500 of new brakes/tyres & £6000 worth of track days.
With all these pictures of clean Trophy's all over the forum i though i had better do something about mine!!!
So i also took some snaps, of what it looks like after 3 months of dirt :slap:
Need to do it again really, struggling to see out the side windows now ...
Why dont you just go to a trackday in it as standard, then see what you want to change?
Bear in mind, that you wont get much change from 400 quid all in per day ...
I try ...
Seriously though, unless you are completely minted & have more money than sense, i see absolutely no point spending 3 grand on fitting ITB's to a clio. Do some track days, see what is wrong with the car, then spend money on what you want to improve imho.
Want less understeer/more...
Bought one of the best handling FWD hatches ever. Check.
Fitted stupidly wide wheels that ruin the handling & make it drive like a VAG. Check.
Not sure if i understand your thought process?
Next block payment is due tomorrow :)
So if everyone can bring their £36 it would be much appreciated.
The usual suspects being:
1. Dave
2. Mike
3. Ollie
4. Nick
5. Vish?
6. Hallam?
7. Bigman
8. John
9. Big Grant
10. Short Grant
11. Ryan?
12. Fletch?
13. Capes?
Why not lol.
Makes bugger all difference its in been looked after!
My 181k mile Trophy drives exactly the same as my old 50k mile one. In fact, it has more power ...
Oh rly.
My sachs did 168k before needing a rebuild. Which was easily sorted.
The H&R coilovers i had that were buggered after 55k, & trying to get them rebuilt was nigh on impossible, so i gave up.
I bought a mint set last year, with Michelin tyres (on 6mm) for £395 off eBay - Just wait a little while & pick up a bargain.
Unless your 'cheap/bargain' 3 grand TT needs four tyres as well as the major service, cambelt & steering rack?
I'm aware of how much you can get one for you berk, i own one ...
Would quite happily pay £10k for that. In fact, if i didnt already have one (& the M3), id probably be tempted to buy that one.
With only 16k miles on it, it would last me for years.
