If the tax is taxed, it has to be insured.
If the car is SORNed they dont care.
FYI, they send a letter before a fine, i managed about 3 weeks with the Trophy, then just re-insured it.
lol. I noticed the thread, but was soo speechless i temporarily lost the ability to type.
I admire the dedication, but its not something that i would choose to participate in.
Re: Sir_Dave's Trophy. The 182 on (nearly) 182k ...
So last night i (well Ollie) fitted my s3xy new steering wheel. Was originally done by 'Arran_182', but i bought it off another member on Saturday - thanks to FAST_aD13 for the superfast delivery btw!! Genuine leather, with a grey centre line...
lol, yours is quite highly played with though!! Whereas i've got a rolling road printout that says i have less power than a standard car should have ... anyway, I work in financial sales, persuasion is my middle name ;)
Depends how modified it is i guess. Mine back to pretty much standard these days, & will be for the foreseeable.
Having a ballsout track car was fun, but a little pointless as it never got driven!!
Essentially, i started off with 8 yrs on the M3, 0 yrs on the Clio (its been on a classic policy for a couple of years, so didnt build up any NCB), then after a bit of discussion, i persuaded them to give me another 8 years no claims on the clio as well. So i now have two policies, with two lots...
Just insured both cars with Admiral, after getting some quite frankly laughable prices this year from some of the specialists ...
M3 @ £700
Trophy @ £500
They kindly matched my 8 years no-claims that i have on the M3, to the Trophy. So Win Win there.
Rather amusingly, some people were pricing...
1. Mike
2. Hallam
3. Bigman possibly.

Nah, mine are very much staying!!
Chap on e36coupe/M3cutters called 'Stax' got an exhange set from here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E46-19-M3-alloy-wheel-part-ex-refurb-service-/260933366468?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cc0d732c4
Iirc the wheels are refurbed by BJV...
Personally, i think that unless they are hyper silver, they look like reps. Especially those god damn awful polished things :dead:
You sure you dont want some OEM ones?
Re: Sir_Dave's Trophy. The 182 on (nearly) 182k ...
Just the normal ones, didnt fancy spending the 350 quid or whatever MF charges for his & these were 200 delivered, so roughly the same price as the standard ones anyway. Didnt really like the MF ones either tbh - thought that they were too...
No point breaking it really, with the amount thats missing you'll only get about 1500 quid all in, & 5 billion messers.
And in all seriousness, you'd probably get that (or certainly close to that) within about 10 minutes on Pistonheads - there is literally a queue of people on there that will...
Re: 'Sir_Dave's Caged, Cleaned & Toyed-with Shed Trophy Paedo Wagon
Ha ha, will have a look ...
They've actually arrived this morning, & bar a couple of the subframe bolts being bent (thanks TNT) they look far better in real life than the photos suggest!! The alcantara bolsters are actually...
Cars looking ace tbh James, our PH1 will be undergoing a restoration back to 'mint' status like your 1st one over the coming weeks, i.e. when it gets less cold.
Your mileage is low btw ;)
Ha ha, i was only 22, so was more of a style wh0re then ;) still took it on track a wee bit though ...
Think most people just go for the billies as they are awesome, & pretty good value. Ive always though that coilies are a bit pointless with a rear torsion bar as well tbh.
