@MarkCup Just be very cautious!
There is a LOT of fraud going on at the moment, we've been tried a couple of times. 'Ello mate, im a local builder, need a roll of carpet. Ill pay up front on a card'. Payment goes through, they take goods, suddenly youve got the bank on the phone telling you...
How much is it bud?
Im usually a 'protect the wheels then use normal shampoo or fallout remover if really bad' kind of guy.
That said, 5 months of not washing the 140 has left the barrels of the wheels in a bit of a sorry state. Ive got some acid kicking about but id rather not use that if poss!
I have one. Unfortunately I dont have access to a compressor anymore so its redundant, for the moment....
I bought a cheap ebay special. As a tool, theyre fantastic. They spin a inner tube around at a billion mph which causes a 'tornado' effect to fly into the carpet. It really does dislodge a...
Anyone else got the Ring Spotlight cams? Big-ish square thing?
Bought one to sit over the driveway to keep an eye on the cars etc. Good thing I did as my neighbour cant drive/park for toffee.
Had the first one for about 4 months before it started to throw a fit and not work. Got it replaced by...
Honestly, just go with the biggest/most bits you can afford.
Ive got the modular tray stuff and its so good.
Undoing crusty gearbox bolts on the mx5 im pissing around with. Had extenders on the socket for reach AND slid a metal tube over the handle for more leverage and the bloody thing...
Maybe im being unfair - I hadnt tried everything in their range tbf.
it was also yeaaars ago I last used up their stuff. I just felt, at the time, it was alright for what it was.
bare in mind, too, that most of my usage is CarChem now. Similar prices to EZ (on BF when I stock up anyway) and it...
Not new new as such, but ive been wanting a MIG since trying my father in laws
Ive been practising stick welding, but for what I will inevitably end up welding for, its just overkill. I also really struggled to make it 'look' decent - but I managed reasonable welds to be fair to me (I have 0...
Yep, ive used some of the EZ stuff.
For me personally, it kind of sits here:
s**t Halfords Stuff (See: Demon Shine)
EZ
Everything else you cant find in Halfords
Its 'OK' at best. For those who have just been using the bucket and sponge, it will blow them away......Im thousands of pounds too...
Great turnaround there! Looking good
I've recently acquired the neighbours Fiesta for a flipper and, well, that's nothing
Once I've started sorting it, I'll post some pics
I ALWAYS look up a game I want on CDKeys or another 'keys' website.
Ive lost count the number of times ive found games at better than half price.
Like Civ - that was £50 odd on the store with the packs. Found it online for £13 including the packs. Bargain!
Its a good time of year to have a butchers on Ebay etc as people will be doing a clear out.
TBH, I just run my full face, even in the 140. Is it ideal? No. Id rather an open face, but I can then use my one for Karting....
General rule of thumb is open face is fine for hard top cars.
Soft top/convertable, full face is required.
It does vary from track to track (and from safety briefing to arriving in my experience too!).
For example. Thruxton. Safety briefing said 'Long clothing and full face helmets ONLY'...
Just bought my neighbours Fiesta (he was about to scrap it....)
Its absolutely hanging but now ive mechanically fixed the non-start issue, its over to detailing to get it ready for sale.
I plan on removing the seats, hoovering, wet vac, steam clean etc.
However, he used to keep his stash of...
Would it make it any less weird if I was at full mast over the Lotus the whole time we went round track?
Obviously im asking for a friend here.....
(Also, FLOL at plastic shed 🤣)
Will you be there and on track Andy? Ive always always fancied a couple of passenger laps in a Lotus - might you be kind enough to oblige me? 😊
EDIT - just seen youve gone for a whole day ;)
ive done track days recently, moreover just that this will be my first CSF (what I put could be misread)
Open pit lane just suggests you can go on and come off track whenever you want as opposed to 'sessions'. There is an AM and PM OPL or you can select the whole day. Ive gone for all day :)
For fallout remover, bang for buck, I cannot fault CarChems Detox.
Unfortunately youve missed black friday deals as theyre epic but on ebay they tend to do 5L for a reasonable price.
Its not quite as good as Kerrosol or some of the others but, I paid £56 for 25L (yes, twenty five)
I think what @Gally is getting at is using Cancoat as a topper.
And, tbh, id be inclined to agree.
I used to think you could go in with a coating and, bosh, done for 3 years. Having used them a fair bit now, im realising that is not the case. Ive learnt to treat coatings a bit like you would a...
Well, it definitely works. I slapped it on really thick and didn't buff at all so it's got a nice thick layer on it. Not as slick as you'd expect but that's due to no buff. I wonder how long it will last!
