    Which compact digital camera? (£100-£150)

Got my rents this, face recognition is kind of cool, macro ability is insane, beats most my DSLR gear for close ups. Flash off it seems very good, yet to view any images on a PC though. Sadly the flash lets it down in auto, my 4 year old Sony digital still beats it hands down. Saying that the...

    Digital Camera Repair

Unless its a very expensive model its probably a right off. Friend dropped my camera traveling and the repair cost to the lens was nearly that of the camera (220). He then got quoted for his to be fixed recently and was 170. Outside chance that a screen might be cheaper to repair than a lens?!

    DSLR Lens Suggestions?

hmmmm Flashgun or Sigma 30 f/1.4, grew out of my 50mm f/1.8 and now use the Canon 28 f/1.8 (gives a nice 50mm field of view) and hear the Sigma is very good a plus the Nikon 28 f/1.4 is err pricey!

    Camera Lenses etc

You won't find eBay tat on there though, most UK retailers will just have the genuine Canon TC's and adapters. Is 210mm not long enough, you'd probably be better just cropping/digital zooming for more reach than using eBay gear. Save some money and don't bother with the UV filter as well, a...

    Photographers - Overcast?

For overcast landscape I'd use longer exposures, specially if your around the sea but requires a decent tripod. Theres always graduated neutral density filters but thats fiddly and takes some time to learn.. I'd pick up a flash, fast prime or portable tripod...

    Nikon D40 or Canon 400D...?

this is like CTR vs 172... If you plan to shoot wide primes and want AF, the Canon hands down, it also has a bigger viewfinder (as far as I know) but I'm probably wrong on this, there both small! flip a coin or something, can't be arsed with fanboyism today :p p.s. canon ftw etc...

My bad, thought those were your pictures at the start! Get an EXIF reader and look at the image data! So yeah, Tripod essential.
