Again, some decent advice in this thread, although the braking issues really do surprise me!!
Personally, i have always run the following setup on all my clio's:
Braided lines (make bugger all difference having done back to back track days with/without)
Brembo HC (or standard) discs
DS2500's...
I'll keep an eye on your site then ;) To be honest, something new in the F4R arena is always nice to hear about, especially from someone who can get over 200ATW from a 1.6 ....
Oh, & the fact that you are all Cornish (like the best of us, cough cough) is all the merrier.
Type Colin Satchell into google. Iirc he works at PMS and in the 106/saxo/205 circles he is almost godlike.
If him (& Sandy Brown) are now getting actively involved in Clio's, this is a VERY good thing for us.
Already emailed gim, still on the original 'Nikasil' lump, no thanks .... (have a look on google if you dont know what that means)
Re: the armrest, you need the whole lot i think, although they only go for about £35 on eBay inc. the centre console iirc.
Tee hee ;)
From memory, Jon got 212bhp at SRR with just a Dave F and 5 billion miles ... not sure if he had any before figures though tbf.
And yes, they are worth it for the noise alone. £150 is strong money though, the 330's ones are about £90 or so - might be a way of bodging it on using a...
I'm assuming that if you also wanted to do this the other way and swop over the engine/gearbox from a 182 to a Ph2 172 and take the PAS pump & alternator, etc over as well (if new for example), they would simply plug & play in the 172? All inlets, etc would be swopped over as well.
Perhaps thats because the type of people that buy a golf gti dont actually care whether its any good or not? Whereas the buyers of RenaultSport's are keen, & often enthusiastic drivers, who welcome things like improved steering feel & dynamic ability, so Renault have to keep on top of their game ...
Umm, dont really have any videos of it tbh, sounds lovely though. Not anywhere near as loud as a Yozza, about 95DB at 4k revs iirc, so fine for track days. I have the cat still in place btw. Fits nicely with the rear bumper as well.
Not sure id spend 600 quid or whatever they cost new though...
And now i have just spend 5 minutes looking at the Ma5da Racing site, where you can buy all the control parts needed to go racing in your MX5 for £2.5k. Oh.
I <3 them when done right also, but all they need is a cage, some buckets & decent suspension.
Dents & battle scars add much needed man points.
This would be ace, all black.
