Im not an expert on it, but Im assuming it just stops all the crud in the air ie. bugs and leafs etc from entering the engine.
Obviously its best for all the crud to clog up a filter than an engine, and the filter can simply be cleaned :)
Theres a guide in the guide section on cleaning an itg filter.
How much would you want for it (and postage)? Bearing in mind it is a couple of years old, or at least thats what im assuming!
lol, thats pretty funny! (but not meant in a harsh way!)
I am thinking of buying one, do they perform worse as they age, and can they be cleaned up to as new condition?
If so I may be interested :)
Im actually pretty surprised about the fuel ecomomy! I got about 400 miles per tank from my 1.2. Ive just finished my first tank in the 182, and got 335 miles from it! Granted I wasnt driving like a t@@t all the time, but still, Id gladly trade ~70 miles for an extra 130ish bhp!
lol, would a dealer even let you take it that far?
I test drove a 172 cup, and to be fair, the dealer did try to let me have a play, and actually said it was a shame to be stuck behind a truck on this nice straight road!
One thing you may or not notice, the steering lock is far worse! I have...
I am/was in your position, my other car is a clio 1.2. Like yourself, I was a bit anxious as to what a 182 would be like.
All I can say is, imagine going around corners without falling out of the seat! Thats one of the main reasons why I love the 182! You can feel that theres so much more...
LOL! I should also ask to the people who have had theirs chipped- Is a noticable difference and would you recommend it?
And, I know its sad to ask, but have you noticed a change in the fuel economy?
As Im under 25, Ive been told I cant make any mods to my car :(
But Ive read a few times on here that ecu chipping is very hard to detect. Has anyone had their car chipped and not told their insurance?
Also, is chipping/remapping worth it for the price? The thing I dont understand about...
On a 1.2 the effects would be negligible. I really wouldnt bother if I were you. I know what its like having a 1.2, as my other clio is a 1.2 :(
If yours is as quick (NOT!) as mine is, then you'll know how much work would need to be done to make it feel even remotely sporty!
From my reading of the forum, it is very similar to the ITG filter. But DONT quote me on that, as I have had neither, although I am looking to get one, but I am unsure which one, so this thread will help me a bit too :)
I dont think I could get away with fitting one of those, as my insurance restricts and performance mods :(
I may get a new panel filter, but Ive read mixed things about them too!
So the standard hose ends behind the headlight? That doesnt seem a very efficient way of getting air into the engine.
I take it the effects if CAFs are minimal if anything?
Well obviously! I mean I had a quick look at the filter the other day, and I saw the hose run off to the right (as you look at the engine), but I didnt see where it ended.
So does it have any effect at all apart from changing the look of the car slightly?! :rasp:
Where does the intake hose end on a standard car, I dont think Ive ever looked tbh!
Just saw this photo on a thread:
What's the purpose of the hole/vent in the bottom grill? (the one between the fog lights)
Ive seen it on a few cars here but have never worked out what the EXACT purpse of it is. I assume its just an induction vent.
What's involved in fitting it?
Im only...
Ok, at least you dont get points for it. Ive passed quite a few police cars, including being stuck in two way traffic right by one, and not had any trouble YET.
I guess it's just down to the copper on the day lol!
Whats the likely outcome from the rozzers if they pull you with the smaller plates? (Like the one in the first pic)
Would they just tell you to replace them, or is if fine and points worthy?
