Truely amazing post. I wish my company would send me on trips like this; I've just come back from South Africa with the tip of my right middle finger missing due to an accident.
Really appreciate the effort you've gone to, to write this post.
Did you not feel like you'd been mugged? I did. Most efficent camera shop I've ever been to, without question. They have your money off you in no time at all. Opening question as soon as you walk through the door is, "here to buy or browse". If you chose the latter, you're out of the door, item...
I'm leaving this Saturday night, for 2 weeks but will be working 12-14 hours a day until the job is finished so can't really say when I could enjoy that beer, sadly. Plenty of overtime though so not all bad. Airbus A380 on the way out too
Do you want f/1.4 for extra shallow DOF? I ask as that's the only reason I would want the 1.4 over the much cheaper f/1.8. If it's extra light gathering then just up the ISO a third of a stop, you won't really notice on a modern SLR.
They look very high-key too me; over exposed you could say. Ask yourself where all that light would be coming from to make the scene that bright? Under the desk in the 1st pic, it's as bright as above it. In reality that wouldn't be the case.
I see the top was shot at ISO 1600, 1s@f/7.1. I think that's your biggest problem here, you need lower ISO and longer exposure time, possibly also stopping the lens down a little more for best sharpness.
^^ it's this over analising of the satistics of car insurance that boils my piss. Where will it end? Why don't the people with the least chance of making a claim get free insurance, if, those that WILL make a claim have to pay so much?
I know what Gally and others might say about it not being...
Does the rule for standard induction system not rule out ITB's? Without forced induction that would of been your main source of power increase I'd of thought, along with cams. I believe this can be done on the standard management, but somebody else who'll know a lot more than me will be better...
Hi DevOes, where are you from? I'm more than likely going out to Jo'burg with work in the next couple of weeks. Have a search round on this site - most of your questions should be answered.
Just a heads up: a mate at work mentioned to turn off the autosave to speed up the loading times on consoles. Seems obvious when you think about it, but it hadn't occured to me :clown:
If you still have something to play the vinyl and cassettes on, then a cheap 2nd hand soundcard off ebay will do the job as long as you can get the signal into the card. I've thrown away soundcards that could do this all day long. If you have onboard sound you may not have the input required...
I was expecting these to be a lot worse than they are, from the title of the thread. Some pretty good shots there, from a 'technique' point of view. As others have pointed out, better understanding of the metering and camera settings would of improved them a fair bit, as would some post...
This is the deffinative list, +1
Out of that Richard Burns Rally for me. It wasn't the graphics or the cars, but the brilliant way they mapped the force feedback to the wheel. You could steer the car with the throttle almost blindfold, such was the depth of feeling you got through the wheel...
Mine did this until I read on here about a bodge whereby you can file some of the plastic away where the arm pivots. This allows the arm to articulate more and sweep more of the screen. It does work, but may require a bit of trial and error. Search on here for the the thread that includes...
Had a new nissan pixo curtesy car from a garage last year for a couple of days. When going from dipped to full beam, the lights would go off completly for a fraction of a second. Scarry. Terrible car.
