Rear brakes hand handbrake problem help needed

My handbrake is the same - I can easily move the car along the ground when trying to undo the wheels bolts with it applied, though I don't have new capilers, but have just had new discs, bearings and pads. The rear brakes don't do very much so the calipers tend to sieze. You sure your calipers...

    New York City at Christmas

Love these shots. Can never be bothered to get up at that time myself - usually hungover. Stayed at both The Penn and New Yorker; also eaten in Tick Tock diner. Getting married in NYC April '13 :)

well fiited my new 3/4 number plate....

Had my 3/4 plate a couple of years and been pulled in that time but the Police have shown no interest in the plate. I think the sensible thing to do is get a full length, UK legal font, front plate only, as the OP seems to have done. Any auto plate reading camera should then still be able to...

    What petrol?

I only use high octane for the same reason, but also because I get 2-3 mpg more and having worked it out, it's better value for money. On cheap stuff the car pops and bangs loads more when cold.

    Kickflip a car???

That was done IIRC with a compressed air 'cannon' that fired down from the inside of the car to kick it up though.

How reliable is the range left on the trip computer?

Out of interest, where is the 'proper' filter then?

How reliable is the range left on the trip computer?

I'm not saying they don't have another filter somwhere, but that they do have a filter as part of the pump, inside the tank.

How reliable is the range left on the trip computer?

ph1's deffo have a filter as part of the pump inside the tank. They aren't difficult to change at all. Think ph2's have a slightly different pump without a return pipe.

    hello

OEM+ I guess you could call it. It's hard to know what to suggest without knowing exactly what you want to achive with your car. If you're serious about improving your car there are countless threads here. I would considering stumping up the membership fee and spending some time reading /...

    hello

Good good. What model do you have? Ebay is usually your best bet for second hand bumpers or spoilers, but they do crop up on here in the for sale section but you have to be a full member to see the adds I think. Otherwise K-Tec have a few styling bits but not my cup of tea...

Half a tank of fuel, yet my fuel light will come Huh

The gauge and the warning light both get the signal from the sender unit which is part of the fuel pump, at least on my ph1. The float is connected to a wiper that traces up and down segments of a variable resistor. When it reaches the top (pivots oposite way), you should get the warning light...

    Matched inlets.

Is there any info as to whether these (RS stamped) were fitted to ph1's, ph2's, early cars, late cars, 172's, 182's?

    I'm Back....

Would love a ph1 myself. Glad you've managed to finally get something you've always wanted, and good job waiting for the right one to come up. I don't know you, and this probably sounds a bit gay, but I'm really happy for you, especially as you don't intend to ruin it with 'mods'. Good work fella!

Hey All, New Member From Lancashire

Hi mate. Nice bike, cool Fiesta, horrible Astra. Good choice between ST and 182 BTW. My mate had a ST and not really in the same league as a 1*2. You can deffo get the headunit to work but may require 2 leads which are fairly dear. Stick with big brands, Alpine, Pioneer, Sony at al and you...

Best non sport for the missus??

Have you looked at the Meganes? My misses wanted to upgrade from a awful VW Lupo and she is now over the moon with her 54 plate 1.6 petrol Megane Dynamique, 44k miles FSH £2.4k. You seem to get a lot more car for your money, and the engines are similar - you can get the 1.4 petrol (not the 1.2...

    Wheel bearing a week...

Local garage told me I needed rear wheel bearing nut covers fiting @ £7.16 each. Is this likely to mean the none existant seal, or the washer, or even the spacer? I'm not overly happy with the discs they fitted, but how could I check that the spacer is in place without taking the discs off?

    Washer pump.

I think double if you've got headlight washer jets. Motor factors should stock them cheaper than Reno.

    Yokohama PARADA ? any good?

Compared to the T1R's, I think they aren't so good. Power understeer a-plenty - never had that with the Toyo's. On the same section of road the Toyos's gave a little chirp and then gripped; the Spec 2's slide all the way across the road towards the barrier unless I lift off. In the wet, again...

    Rear end skitish...

+1 on the reporting back please. I have the exact same symptoms - feels like it's steering from the back sometimes. I did take one off but it felt ok but then I dn't know how stiff they should be.

    Brother hit a pheasant.

When I hit 'mine' it took the fog light out completely and looking in the rear view, I saw it about 10 foot in the air. Bird was knocked into the path of a 5 series coming the other way. Hate the bloody things.
