I've managed to sort myself a cheeky placement over Christmas while I'm off Uni, that pays very generously. So I thought I sort out the small issues with my car once I get paid.
The blowing exhaust is to be replaced with one of BTM's new systems start of next year hopefully.
But I have the...
Took the 182 for a quick spin on some country roads near me end of last week, these roads are Newall Carr road and the ones it leads onto just North of Otley if anyone is interested. Awesome and not busy at all. Wasn't pushing hard at all due to greasy conditions and not knowing the roads too...
Just looked up how to figure out the height using the aspect ratio, if I've got it right my tyres are about 9.75mm taller than a 195/50 tyre. I'm guessing that'll be fine, if I was a serious racer it would probably go against handling but for a track day should be cool
I know that the preferred size of tyre on a 15" wheel is 195/50, but I've come across some track rubber for free but they're 195/55. Just wondering if that's ok? I assume the 5mm shouldn't cause any issues but just checking?
Cheers
I think my car is a good example of what you might be looking for (not that it's for sale ha). My RB had 75000 miles on it when I got it early summer, and it was bog standard and in immacualte condition. I paid £3500 for it, have covered close to 3000 miles in it, driven it pretty hard every so...
Ok cool thanks for that!
Just curious now, would a 15" wheel that is et38 still sit as far out in the arch as a 16" wheel with et38? My current Turini's are et38.5 iirc so these 15" valver wheels should sit the same in the arch?
Just bought a set of valver wheels for pretty cheap, they're identical to these but in the original silver:

Just wondering, since I'm planning on using them...
Sliver mk2 Clio with a CS sticker in the rear window, parked opposite Popinas.
Walked past it on my way into Uni and noticed the CS sticker, I live literally 2 minutes away from there
I barely do 4000 miles a year while I'm at Uni! Only use the car for fun twice a week max. It's easier to walk everywhere I go in Leeds. Will go up when I graduate next year though, but I almost definitely won't exceed 10k a year. My car's on 77k at the mo so it'll creep up very slowly while...
Very nice! Good choice of colour! The front grill is looking like mine was when I got it, I'd give it a coat or 2 of satin black as it's looking grey. Transformed the front end on mine
Yeah it's fine at Uni for me, it's a luxury rather than a neccessity in Leeds tbh, I can walk everywhere but I occasionally fancy a drive! I drove back home (London) from Leeds on thursday, which is a 200mile trip, and I got 40mpg average and it cost me about £28 in fuel (V Power not the cheap...
182 for sure, in another league to the ST IMO. My friend's ST feels so much more tame than my 182. The 182 to me is pure fun! And despite being a poor student myself, the best decision I've made whilst at Uni is buying the 182. I find myself going out for drives, with no destination, just out in...
After this few I'm not gonna keep adding pics to this thread as they're all the same! I need to get some action pics next! But cleaned the car quickly today, so took a couple of snaps:
Bog standard interior barring the orange tree and head unit. Think it'll be staying that way unles I get...
Refurb your Turini's white to match the stripes. I was almost thinking about adding stripes to mine. I can't be arsed now but I think it'd look good with white wheels
Thanks guys I'm certain it's the exhaust then. It currently has some exhaust sealer on the rear silencers so I suspect that's gone, I'm looking to buy a Yozza when I'm home next anyway so hopefully replacing the exhaust will solve it. I'll get the car into my dads garage and the diagnostics...
Sorry to thread hijack but just wanted to check, my EM light has also come on but I'm running a cat with a standard exhaust, but it's very rusty and possibly blowing slightly. Would a blowing exhaust cause the EM light to come on? The car runs fine and starts 1st time everytime
