Had the pleasure of meeting Alex on several occasions. A true car nut and a top bloke. Impressed he managed to behave so well on camera in those conditions. Not sure I'd be 'mature' enough to not get a V6 wiggle on now and then
The reason I want it to remain open long-term - it's a playaground for review videos. This one's just gone live on a channel that, to be frank, is starting from zero. So any views and shares are much appreciated! I do hope to get the Clio into a comparison video one day, just to show how great...
So, there are a lot of rumours floating around the internet about Rockingham's fate. Most people seem to think it's currently a car park, and that's for good reason, too, because it was, under the previous owners. But now it's owned by the Constellation Group, which is the parent company to the...
I'm also a regular cyclist and have been using a SeaSucker mount. It's expensive to buy but probably cheaper than swapping cars, and it means I don't get any crap in the car. The mount is great - here's a pic from when it was on for a quick UK hol last year in Dorset. I drove with both bikes on...
That looks great. I've been looking at getting mine rustproofed at SWRP, too. Glad to see they mask off everything so well, looks like a proper job. Great work (y)
Argh. Alignment printout shows the caster is still out 🤬 I wonder if fire will fix it.
I think I’m going to have to take the car to a specialist that can look under it and hopefully spot whatever’s causing the issue. The wishbones look fine and fresh to be honest.
Thankfully it drives fine (it...
Just realised I didn’t answer this properly because I can’t read. The Dunlops are noticeably the stiffer, more communicative tyre. But oddly I think the car rides better on them too. Maybe it’s to do with road noise.
I too became quite disappointed with the PS3s I had before. I loved them...
Update on the above: I got the car up on a ramp and, lo and behold, the wishbones are indeed correct. It was hard to see underneath when the car was jacked on the ground, but now it's clear wishbones aren't causing the caster issue.
I've just had new bearings fitted to my PMS solid top mounts...
I did find sensors, they're harder to source than most parts and I kept reading that Bosch parts might not fit, despite having the correct part number. My parts are coming from Autodoc in Germany, so should arrive in a few days. I'll update here with the results...
I've got two new ABS rings up...
My tyres are RT (in 205/45 R16), rather than any of the higher-spec ones I see listed elsewhere for bigger rims. Rated 83W, says max weight is 487kg on sidewall, if that helps.
I switched from PS3s to Dunlop SportMaxx RTs and I think they're fab.
Fantastic dry grip, good steering feel and, my favourite, progressive grip to slip on the rear axle. I even think they're really good in the wet.
I now run 33psi up front and 39psi at the back
Anyone have any horror stories relating to this eBay ABS sensor? It's listed as 'genuine', but eBay is eBay. Seems Reno doesn't stock the part anymore :(

If this was in the morning it may have been me on my way to Snetterton for the EnduroKa meeting.
EDIT: Ah, you said anti-clockwise. Seems the M25 was treated to two RBs on Sat!
I’ve been unable to cure an ABS issue on my 182 (with Cup Packs) despite having new rear hubs and two new front ABS rings and sensors recently fitted.
The ABS pointlessly fires when I’m at a crawling pace and gently braking. Under harder brake pressure it remains off, and I know it works...
Anyone know what I should be looking at or measuriing when getting under the car to check that my wishbones are both of 182 Cup spec?
I've come across images (below) that compare 172 and 172 Cup wishbones (I think) - assuming this sort of visible difference is what I should be looking for under...
Yeah they should be correct. Sourced from Renault with my reg a couple of years ago. Now I’m worried I’ve been running on incorrect spec ones.. I best check first!
I’ve just had my 182 with Cup Packs’ (and Bilstein B14s) wheels aligned and the caster at the front seems quite far out.
From what I can see elsewhere in the forums, it’s likely to be worn wishbone bushes. But they look fine on inspection, and the wishbones are only about 15,000 miles old. I...
Love how frenetic the racing looks. What a fab track Cadwell is - especially when you're on-throttle oversteering in a 182!! 👏
I'm there next month, albeit with about a third of the power in a Ka...
Very glad this thread has come up as I was thinking exactly the same about a centre silencer, albeit for a cat-back 182 Yozzasport system, which has never tried to be stealthy or quiet...
This is very useful knowledge! In a cat-back system, would it therefore be best to have a centre silencer...
Sorry to bump an old thread, but just wondering if anyone's got pics of a three-point harness threading through the rear seats? I want to stick my back seats in while retaining the driver's side harness in the front, bolted to the Isofix bar hole in the boot (presently the rear of the interior...
That's interesting. Guessing the rattle of the diesel motors covers up any worsening of NVH in the rack... I'm still tempted to switch mine, partly to increase longevity and partly to fill time during lockdown
For anyone interested, I've also had a reply directly from Powerflex about...
Awesome, were the improvements significant? In truth, I can't sense any issues with my rack, but the car's done 129,000 miles and every other bush change I've done has made a noticeable difference as a result
Great advice in here. Just wondering if anyone's got experience of using the Black Series steering rack Polybushes on the road? I know that the Black Series bushes are normally too stiff for road use in other areas of the car (my car's other bushes are Road Series), but I wonder if the drawbacks...
Hey fellow Clio lovers/owners.
I figured some of you may enjoy this story I’ve written for PH about how the UK created the 182 Trophy back in the Renault Sport glory days. I never knew how much power the UK division had in its development...
Hope it’s ok for me to post this here; just sharing...
