Just re-entered my reg and it says still compliant, so I think we'll be fine with the expansion. My neighbour has a 2001 Accord which is also compliant, and there are a few other 'oldies' in the area (all petrols, of course) that operate with no issues.
I use the Clio almost weekly in the...
I've lived within the current zone (SE15) since it was introduced and regularly use the Clio during the summer months with no issues (or ULEZ fines!). So unless the emissions limits change, I'm not expecting the expansion to affect any 182 drivers.
You know I never knew the Clio's Euro rating...
New video live here - and it's a bit more Clio-relevant than my other recent ones, what with the car on screen feeling in many ways like the Renault Sport Clio 200's spiritual successor.
I really want to send my 182 around for a timed lap, but don't want to deal with the brake and tyre wear...
I've now met the car in person, for a follow-up video. Here's my social post of it.
Vid to follow on YouTube next week!
I get really nerdy with it and talk gear linkage feel, camber and seating position, so feel free to sub to the channel to see it when it goes out ;)
I'm a massive fan of the FK8 Type R, but I've long hated its fake grilles and vents. The new FL5 car could very well put those design wrongs to right - while adding loads to the CTR performance base. I've made this quick video to summarise a few things to expect before the covers come off...
Thought we'd go down the petrol vs electric route with our latest video, which pits the Audi RS5 Sportback against its closely-aligned, but electrically-powered sibling, the e-tron GT. Both cars pack a punch and are sort-of grand tourers, but they're quite different on the asphalt:
I know...
I loved the John McGuinnes one ^. TT riders have a different understanding of danger..
Another shameless plug here. But this is on the R8 V10, which I'm sure many of us can appreciate. Especially in what's increasingly looking like it's last year of production. Sad face...
Planning on...
Quite excited about this one, because we've only gone and beaten the motoring press to getting in front of and, most importantly, inside of an Alfa Romeo Tonale. I'm a big fan of the car - and even more so since I saw this one in the metal. What do you think? I reckon it's the looker of the...
That would be a dream, and there's plenty of support for it internally. But the track needs a lot of work as much of it has started to age quite badly. So we're a long way off that, unfortunately. I suspect there's a higher chance of the circuit one day being available for private events...
It was cleared as soon as cinch bought it - the cars in the old 'carpark' pics are those of the former owner. I'm optimistic it'll never need to be used that way again because of the enormous amount of land cinch already has access to, some of which is only a stone's throw away in Corby!
The i20 N (along with the Kona N) is so great at putting the power down that my drives have convinced me to have a Quaife LSD fitted to the Clio this year - and a new set of front tyres
It's all clear of cars now - evidence can be found on the above videos and others on the same channel
It'll remain that way so long as I can make this YT thing work, so any support is much appreciated.
We’ve a new video review live on YT, but this time it features the Hyundai Kona N. Which, despite being a crossover, is one of the most fun and engaging sub-£40k driver’s cars on sale. No joke.
It can do the crossovery stuff well enough, but what amazed me was its ability to hammer around a...
Is there a more divisive car on the internet at the moment? Probably. But this has to be one of the biggest opinion splitters out there. Still, when BMW invited me to come and have a go in its 523hp, 100kWh iX xDrive50, I leapt at the chance. Despite not even coming close to accepting its...
Honestly, I always jump back into the Clio and am astounded how quick it still feels, even compared to proper sports cars. It's why even after stints of driving all manner of things at my previous employers, Autocar and PistonHeads, I never got bored of the 182. In fact, I often left the press...
Fair point; I guess what I mean is that certain mileage-related consumables, like bushes, bearings and top mounts, etc, might need replacing in a decade-old Porsche. Where as you might get away with a couple more years in the Jag before it starts needing similar age-related maintenance. Maybe...
To keep up the output on the cinch YT channel, I had a go at a vlog-style video, shot quickly and with fewer cameras than the previous vid, and edited in a simpler way. It's on a used Jaguar F-Type V6 S (that we were using for a sports sponsorship shoot), which at £37k ish I thought represented...
Thank you! Shameless request for subscriptions - your reward will be next week's vid, which should be quite exciting! It's when the same videographer as this EV vid and I get to let our hair down with two ultra cool hot hatches.
Good thinking - that's not far off what we've coming next. 'Edutainment' seems like the route for quick success. We'll have a decent mix of vids; there's talk of resurfacing the outer ring, too, which would be very handy..
Thanks, all! We've started with a consumer advice vid, but rest assured there are some 'enthusiast' vids in the pipeline. One of which involves lots of sideways action...
Hi all, shameless plug of our latest video here - but I figured some on CS might appreciate it. We do something that's admittedly been done before, but this time it's with three hot-selling electric cars that hail from three different segments. Our question is: What happens to an EV beyond 0%...
