Remember that the 172 Cup insurance will be more expensive than the equivalent non-cupped model!
A/C isn't that much of an issue. I came from a 306 with AC to the Cup, but for the couple of weeks where the AC is a luxury, I'd rather have the 52 weeks of a year with more power!
There have been 2 people driving it. A male and also a female both look as if they're late 40s/early 50s. (Sorry if I'm incorrect about the age!) Its obviously (by the Private plate) owned by the female, but I've seen them both driving the car in the past on different occasions.
The blue blanking plates for the 172 Cup (or the plain black ones on the Trophy) are about £57 inc VAT for the pair...I asked the parts guy if I'd get a BJ...as I might as well have some pleasure while they were shafting me!
Welcome to the club...there is a meet at Star City 2pm on Sunday 30th March if you fancy it! :)
Here's the thread...but you won't be able to post until your a fully paid up member I'm afraid.

I prefer the way the Cup handles over the FF. Admittedly its a more raw feeling over the FF...but I've driven mine for nearly 85,000 miles now, and I would honestly say I've enjoyed driving the car.
ABS or ESP only come into use when the driver has gone past their own limits 9 times out of...
Looking at the plate, I thought it was Jay's old car...had to go check photobucket to see that the last 2 digits on the number plate are different.
Still looks good though, although the pics definately don't do the colour the justice that looking at it in the flesh does! :approve:
GSF told me this via email as I need to get some before the end of the month. Remember that this is for 2 new rear discs with the new bearings in.
"I've found the part number you need, it is R62428 the retail price is
> 164.85
> + VAT"
So gonna try a local factor and a Renault...
I have the ITG panel filter on mine and Pro-speed SS stealth exhaust.
There are some minters out there.
Kully's Cup has been played with (185ish Bhp)and is in mint condition (it will be in the For Sale section somewhere). I can vouch for it. :)
*Edit* Found it...
The 3 beeps is to tell you that the ultrasonics are deactivated. You do that by turning the key to position 3 "without starting the car" then back to release the key twice. It means that essentially you could leave a gap in your windows, your alarm would still be on, but would be activated by...
Mine was £330 (should have been about £380) back in November 2006 for a stealth mid-sport note for the 172 Cup...so will be different to yours...make sure you mention CS as he will do you a discount. :)
The rear brakes are different to the ones on the 172 proper...and there was an issue because the 172 should have ABS, but doesn't (which it shouldn't as it doesn't have ABS!)
Have a look on the last page of this http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosacorp/repository/MoT%20Issue%2031%20-%20Apr%202006.pdf...
I was by the Roundabout going to the Hortonwood bypass through toward Muxton about then...if it was MJ53, then its me! (looking bloody dirty again!)
Although there was an Illiad Blue V6 was there the other week parked up on the roundabout as it had run out of fuel!
Mine failed its first MOT on the rear brakes...I mentioned the VOSA thing to them...and he said, its the fact that your brakes are barely working...swap the pads and you'll be right. Did that and no worries.
Car had done 58K at the time though.
I was at the Sainsburys, just pulled in to take cash out...then off again. So if it was parked in a proper parking space, then no it wasn't me...if it was by the side of the building with the engine ticking over, then yes, it was me!
The Cup was mine (both times I think)! I go to the gym in the Park Inn, so that was definately me (and I think mine is the only one with headlight washers!). I take it yours was the Black 02 plate 172? I stopped at the Sainsbury's to get some cash out...thats if it was parked by the Cash...
A CLAIT course might be useful for her. It should help her use the machine and also some of the applications like Word, Excel and the rest. I think Learn Direct do them...could try evening classes in the local college.
I've never heard of it mate, but the join is or will be corroded, so its best not to be too trusting of it.
I don't know how you are gonna get on...unless you can get someone who can fabricate a piece of metal as an overlay for the exhaust (like a sleeve as a temp measure). Just an idea....:)
If it falls, the box will catch the floor. I think its better (was for me) to rip the box off then deal with no backbox. Thats personal opinion, as if it drops when doing some speed...not nice prospect!
Sorry mate, thought it was yesterday! (My bad)
When I pulled the box off, I had to remove the hanger from the rubber (I was 45 miles away from home, so couldn't leave it on...just in case).
The pipe will stay up out of the way...but I don't envy you the noise...made me partially deaf in my...
