Help 172cup or 182cup?

  RB 182 FF cup pack
Hey!

Got a dilemma! I'm mad about cups, and i dont mean the mug type. problem is i don't actually own one yet! Currently driving a 306 and its gotta go. Been wanting a clio ever since taking a 172cup out for a spin. Trouble is do i go for the 172cup or 182cup? Not bothered bout toys so FF sports don't interest me, though no a/c in the 172cup does worry me a little. I know there are a few 172cups out there with climate control but, would this effect the performance? Anyway it would be great if you guys with cups could give me some feed back to help me with the decision. Cheers.

Theres only 1 real 1*2 cup...
Everyone knows which one that is.
The 182 was even more of a parts bin special than the 172 version was.

if i go for the 172cup its gonna be at least 4yrs old as they stopped being made early 2004, which means a possible cambelt change if not had one already any ideas on funds needed for this?

C£350 for a cambelt; may as well get the AUX belt done at the same time

think about the ABS too. I'd rather the 172 had it and it was switchable TBH

Heard some horror stories bout clio belts failing at around 40000mls so now renault say for sport models every 36000, i maybe wrong only what ive heard

Remember that the 172 Cup insurance will be more expensive than the equivalent non-cupped model!

A/C isn't that much of an issue. I came from a 306 with AC to the Cup, but for the couple of weeks where the AC is a luxury, I'd rather have the 52 weeks of a year with more power!

172 Cup if you don't want ABS/ESP etc.

182 Cup if you want them + A/C + the exhausts out of the back + RB colour

Nothing in it performance wise for everyday driving unless its very wet.
