Track Tyres - Feedback and Recommendations

An update for anyone interested, I had been using RS-Rs (140) and changed to NS-2R (180) two track days ago. I had been generally happy with the federals apart from what I found to be soft sidewalls, Shoulder wear when pushing hard but good grip. Two track days ago I swapped to Nankangs, it was...

    To strip...or not to strip...

I had mine like yours, kept the carpets etc etc, I've just done a more thorough strip job but cut the plastics to keep some of them. With the painted floors and a bit more cabin noise I have to say it adds to the experience, wish I'd done it earlier, plus it just makes me smile, because racecar...

Best way to loose cup weight

Have a look at the upper engine mount, on the drivers side, if you look underneath it there will either be a weight or a gap as someone has already binned it. Weight loss depends on how far you want to go, carpets, sound deadening, seats, fibreglass panels, poly windows, airbags etc etc

Stripping weight from 172 track car

I knew you had some hassle, just not that much :( the Clio is so much fun, generally reliable, only issues I've had is a misfire that turned out to be the crank sensor and my 3rd gear synchro is on it's way out, just have to be slow and easy into gear or it'll grind. Mine's staying road legal...
