Its probably as they are all seized up from lack of use. Once a week, I used to drive with the handbrake on when pulling off the drive ... keeps the pads/discs free. Maybe try that?

Theres quite a few on the Gti6 forum now actually, mainly due to the fact it costs about £2.5k for the stage 1 250bhp kit ... Quite how its nearer to £5k for the clio i have no idea :S
