^^ that would have been the cv's! i think its wheel bearing, change it yourself if you have torque wrench. very easy and lot cheaper!

if it uses a potentialometer, depending on how its used (high resitance = fully open, or high resistand is fully closed) you could used a simple, 30p resistor...a potentialometer is just a varible resistor with a fancy name! this would only work if the potentialometer is used like so: high...

i wasnt aware they could cause damage to anything else?! if the bearing goes it generally makes a load noise (grinding moan, effected by speed). and when theyre really screwed, they just lock up..... i might be wrong on the second part tho...

my ik works...i got it off ebay...its a halfords type chepo one, but still works. improoves responce, and power when going up hills (when throtle is fully open) but i do have decat/exhaust also....

^^^ yeah i pity me to! lol. if it wasnt the big ends, it was the main bearin, eitherway the engine seessed up one night, and when i got it going the next day the banging noise gave it away lol i had checked everything else, even the piston rings were ok! im gonna fix it up over the summer tho :)

i did this with mine once...looked a bit tame as i used blue bulbs. you need to get blue reflecttors tho, not blu bulbs.that way it will be just as bright with an even spread!

another thought.....wheres your induction coming from? standard box? or bodge job? check the mass flow sensor. also check breether pipes. an engine will do this if the air its sucking isnt cold enougth.....
