Helllloooo there,
Kinda new here, but not quite. I'm Martin, from Chester. Know a few people on here are local but anyways...
Used to have a 197 CUP, absolutely loved it, but traded in for a Scirocco 2.0tsi. Had quite a few cars since, but knew I'd be back at some point! This was the 197, if...
At my dads BBQ today and found a key scratch on my rear quarter panel!
Definitely deliberate...it's so deep that it has to be a key.
Pissed me off so much! Got to get quotes in the next few days now to get it done :( twàts!
I love the way he puts after the seats rips etc.....'that's it! Nothing else....cat D repaired...'
So the seat rips are the biggest down side then yeahhhhhhh....
No mate, been here my whole life :) had a ripcurl for 6 months last year, only had my 197 for 3weeks, and had a 182 for a few months before but it was never out of a garage, so sold it :)
Just never used to come on here that much...
Just at the cross roads...
You going into blacon from sealand rd, me going out of blacon at the lights.
Nodded at you in a White 197 Cup :)
Seen you around when I had my Corsa and RX-8.
So the 197 went in for abit of warranty work. Nothing major, just rear pads needed changing and I thought there was a knocking from the exhaust...
However, cutting a long story short, i never trusted this garage from day one, and me and the owner of the garage had a MAJOR falling out. Ended up...
Yeah I find the same, it's just flows throu the changes....what makes it so easy to drive and fun :)
Your spot on about the braking too! You just have confidence in what the car can do, that in itself makes it a safer car, as you know what limits it has, and even if you push them a little you...
So, had the 197 for 2 weeks now and today the penny dropped!
Before this car, the only performance car I've had long enough to adjust to driving was my 1.6T Corsa SRi. That was quick and felt it near enough from the start. Because its a torquey car and the turbo kicked in at 3k rpm, it near...
Wings are a definite no no for me...
My short list ATM is...
Recaro PP's
Cobra Suzuka's
Bimarco Expert (RS Stiching)
But that is prior to going to tweeks to sit in them all :) so it may all change!
Well I will hopefully have a bolt in cage for track days etc, this weekend, so then I'll take the seats out, but wouldn't want to be caught short if you get me.
So if someone needed a lift, they still be able to squeeze through :)
Yeah I will do :) cheers for the reply!
So, theres someone who's done this with their seats....
Fitted aftermarket sliders that fit onto the OEM floor fitments, with adapted beams. Like so...
The square bar that has been welded to the runners will attach to the floor by the same 2 bolts that you'd use to put the standard seats in...
So this is an OPINION thread...
Most peoples opinions are Recaro Pole Positions are the be all and end all of light fixed buckets. But what other options are there?
I thinking of 2 that are comfy enough for a trip to the 'ring or Spa etc, but as lightweight as possible with it. I know that is...
So I'm after a solution to putting one recaro pole position in for trackdays,
I want it to be simple so that the normal seats can be used daily, then the day before a trackday or whatever, I can stick the pole position in easily.
Does anyone have any ideas how I could go about this?
As...
Worth it?
I'm looking at taking it to a local performance tuner, rather than ktr or rs, very highly recommended, but just abit different.
I've heard of people putting the r26 carb on, but I was think individual jenveys or the like?
The actual mechanical fitment will be no issue and may even...
