I've never had any issues and I've bought loads on here. I do always tend to see how long the seller has been around though and his/her post count.
I did buy a secondhand set of wheels once and put them straight in thegarage without looking at them. 6 months later i decided not to use them and...
Most comfortable bucket seat i've ever had was a GT width Corbeau Revolution. I did thousands of miles in that and never felt uncomfortable. No good for the ring anymore though.
Just a heads up:
Popped in at lunch to order a touch up stick and it turns out the paint is no longer available from Renault. Crazy!
Luckily the parts guy spoke to their paint guy and made me a pot up which was really good of him (Renault Durham).
I don't remember having to strip brakes on any car on a regular basis before, let alone every year, is it 1960?
Mine is already remapped, so that's no good. Someone once upon a time spent a small fortune at TDF, but maybe that's the problem. Lol!
Youre missing my point. It's not heavy, or hard to drive, its a load of little things that are really annoying. Terrible kangarooing on cold start (even on 98 fuel), zero power below 4k, terrible fuel consumption for what it is, steering columns made of cheese, dodgy handbrakes, boots that open...
Last time I checked the handbrake mech was connected to the rear brakes. I don't use my handbrake through fear of it sticking (they do this a lot). In my book that makes them not up to task.
Regards the everyday comment I was merely giving a personal opinion. I do quite a lot of m/way miles...
Mine does the same, there is a noticeable shove at 5k, actually more so than in and of the mk2's i own or have owned in the past
Again, agreed.
I like the Mk3 and it is the 'better car', but the fuel usage is absurd, the rear brakes aren't up to task and the front bumper doesn't fit...
I don't care either way, but there was only going to be one winner between a turbo car with dsg and launch control against a car where the peddler has to change gears himself and the power band is between 5 and 7.5k. Anyone that has driven a MK3 RS will tell you that off cam the thing is average...
Bodies probably. I have some already, but they are a bit left field. I've got a few other things to pay for this year though sadly, so i'm not sure when it'll get done.
Cub, I thought yours looked great at SRR!
That was when the LEDA's first went on and everything was set to max. It was about 6 degrees. lol. It's now running 2.75 up front and nearly 3 at the back. :)
I do indeed. Have a read of the project thread when you get time! It doesn't get much use, but i've got Goodwood in Aug booked.
Thanks...
Great project. Not sure on the old boat anchor engine choice, but it'll be a fascinating read.
WSCC was always a bit cliquey imo, but there is no doubting the knowledge. Dad used to do their sprint and hillclimb stuff as well.
Good luck with the SVA if you decide to go down that route. Always...
Collected the car from storage where it has gained another years mot ;) Whilst there the car was also weighed and with 1/4 tank of fuel it weighs 972kgs, thats with nobody in it.
It has developed an annoying misfire having been sat in the cold for so long. Plugged it in and it came up with...
Sometimes the time constraints don't allow for someone to go through a 14 page thread and remove all the appropriate material necessary to replace the thread back into the public domain. I'd like to do this, but the 8 hours of meetings I had yesterday wasn't conclusive to letting me do this...
