Having read umpteen threads on here, a lot of other forum guides for rebuilding calipers in general as well as watching a lot of videos on YouTube to get a general idea of the rough process/what needs to be done I'm left wondering if it's really as hard as some people make it out to be?
I was...
Might sound like an odd question.. When you removed the rear bench, how did you get the seat backs out of the but they attach to by the wheel arches? I have mine a good pull but couldn't get them out!
Love your project, inspiring stuff. Would love to have a second car so I don't have to rely...
It seems to me that with every option it's the brackets that are the dubiously expensive part? I'm guessing this is due to time invested with CAD and testing etc and the cost of high quality materials/hardware vs low volume of potential sales.
I actually couldn't find the parts much if any...
Don't think it's worth the effort IMO. It was be far far easier to swap your sound system over.
You'd probably save enough off the insurance to make a damn good start at 'cleaning it up'.
If you really want to drop the cash, go for it but don't forget about suspension & braking upgrades to...
To the best of my knowledge (happy to be corrected) it's from the repeated shutting of the door over time moving the catch on the shell. Eventually it gets moved far enough that the corner of the door contacts the shell. Can be fixed by moving the catch back.
Not that I could afford to, but I'd never spend that much £££ without being able to drive an example of the model I'm buying! Seems absolutely crazy to me, could be a bag of s**t/horrible!
Yes it does and you can fairly easily get a free code, using one of the numbers off the right hand side of the standard head unit. There's either websites, computer applications or if you've got an android device, there's an android app to generate free codes.
I've not done it myself but don't like the sort of blueish look to the plastic in my 182, so was considering wrapping my whole dash in a darker leather effect material. Would be interested to see how you get on with wrapping if you go down that route. People keep telling me to flock it, but I...
Won't be for a couple of weeks probably, as the car's currently with Dan @ SJM and then I need to find the time to fit it all properly! Well and have to wait for monies to hit the account.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
After Goodj suggested the CDE-178BT I started looking at Alpine's headunits. In the end I'm going to go with a mechless Alpine IDE-178BT and stretching the budget slightly. Also going in will be one of their PWE-V80 underseat woofers. Was only planning to...
I've searched but I can't really find the exact answer I'm looking for, in terms of product recommendation.
I'd like an aftermarket headunit that has/can:
o blue lit display
o *rear* USB - I don't want cables hanging everywhere or USB sticks poking out.
o Can use stalk controls
o Can use the...
I got one of those connects 2 units, I have it stuck to the piece of plastic above the cup holders using velcro. cable just comes out through the bottom of the panel, no modding needed and looks fine.
If you think about it, the thumb grips are in almost constant use whilst in the car so face a lot of wear/tear. I'd imagine the majority of wheels out there that haven't already been refurbed will need redoing!
Time for an update. A lot has happened, life as usual getting in the way. I was intending to do one large one including a lot of pictures and more detailed thoughts, comments and opinons but frankly I've done quite a few bits and bobs with more coming imminently so before it all gets too...
I just used genuine velcro circles, 3 on each plate, have some left over, might stick some more on but... getting the plates off to wash behind them the other day was hardly easy!
Isn't that a bit of a self defeating point? If money were no object many things would be different. But it's not, so things are how they are. It's like saying if every apple was an orange, then bananas wouldn't get a look in.
But alas, apples are not oranges and these Clio's are an enthusiasts...
Spent a winter season driving Renault Trafic vans as an airport transfer driver. My Astravan had died a death by the time I'd got back after 6 months of sitting rotting. Was a shed anyway. Wanted something smaller (not an estate) with decent fuel economy and 'mod cons' like cruise, AC...
So, had the car up the other day on some stands and took a look at the exhaust in general while it was up, noticed this:
Looks like there should be a hole for that bolt to go through and it's completely rusted away?
Stupidly started a very long boring road.
Think I'm just going to leave it here for today and finish it off when I've got some paint.
Also fitted new osram xenons/hids. The bulbs in there from previous owner(s) were 4 different manufacturers! Sadly just noticed one of the sidelights has...
So bloody true mate!! Hahaha. I've done exactly the same; gone away, come back and already spent a small fortune again! Haven't gone anywhere near as nuts as you though! Would love to do this to my BG 182. Can't wait to see how this develops, thread +subbed!
Absolute bargain mate! At that price you could always get the caps repainted/dipped/wrapped/whatever's suitable for the material they're made of and rebrand them and still call it a bargain!
