To answer the above question, my Ph1 triggered the light when I removed the airbag ECU, you can turn the light off with CLIP by setting all the individual sensors to “Without” this however does not prevent the light coming back on when you remove the ECU again (light is probably on because the...
I went from the rubber (OEM) to Spherical bearings (Pure Motorsprt), there’s a noticeable increase in feedback from the road (small bumps, pot holes etc) if you don’t mind a harsher ride and want a little more information of what the wheels are doing, fit the sphericals.
To keep it simple, your main focus is to clean the car while inflicting as little micro scratches as possible. To that end the best way to do this is to do touch-free cleaning - things like snow foaming and pressure washing.
Products:
1. Pressure washer: Pretty much required to remove as much...
Scratch this. I checked everything except the actual plugs into the UCH... which weren’t not plugged in ! 18 months makes you forget what you unplugged !
Hiya,
Looking for some advice from people who've done stripped track cars, specifically on the PH1.
I took my PH1 off the road some 18 months ago with the intention of doing the usual track spec conversion, after reassembling the car this past week I've found the car to not start.
From what...
In the trophy it's very smooth and almost instant, however there has a few intermittent occasions it has stuttered when changing gear. But when I test drove one the car they had on site changed gear awfully, every time it shifted I lurched forward and it nearly put me off buying one. It...
I’ve seen a few people secure it with a metal bracket, bolt holes on the clocks and holes on the column. A thin bit of metal you can bend into position and drill a hole in either end.
Have you checked over the engine bay fuses ? I recall when my fuel pump wouldn’t prime it had blew one of the smaller amp fuses which was for the pump.
Also regarding the fuel cut off, if it’s popped it will just click back down when pressed, if not it hasn’t tripped.
I can't help on the trying before you buy front I'm afraid, but I recently bought an OMP TRS-E seat for my track car and chose the size based off measurements I'd taken from my trophy seat. Places like Demontweeks often give you the measurements for the size you are buying so if you have access...
It certainly feels easier to live with compared to the ph1, although the fuel consumption did take me by surprise !
At the time my 172 gearbox was starting to give up the ghost and it was the 3rd or so major issue I’d had in a short space of time and I got sick of being under it.
The idea was...
12,000 mile update, just so happened to check the front tyres today and glad I did. I’d seen the reports of premature tyre failure on the Supersports but never thought to check as my service was only 2000 miles ago and was given the all clear.
The very insides are down to strings !
The actual...
Be interesting to hear feedback on how they feel on the road, I’ve been toying with the idea of getting some 250 callipers for a while now and seeing how difficult it would be to get them on.
Hiya ! You’ll need one without the speedodrive (sensor in the gearbox that is used as a pickup for the speedo, the other models use the ABS rings)
The 172 phase 1 uses speedodrive (jc5-089) and I believe some of the earlier 172 cups (JC5-129)
The 182 cups use JC5-130
Have you considered a...
You were on the money first time ! Cracked off the tensioner and top pulleys, lined it up, loosely torqued it and done 6 rotations. Everything’s on tight and the shoe wiggles like it should. Cheers :)
Yeah I struggled to get the inlet to stay put aswell, I used the old bolt on the pulley with slight torque to stop it being kicked back while I set it. To be honest it will probably be fine the way it is, but while the engines out I wan't to be sure it's good - I don't fancy trying it again when...
Yeah I lined them up perfectly and the tool wiggled loosely, but as soon as I started the turning over and rechecked they’ved moved ever so slightly to where I need to push the tool in. I think it might be from the belt tension as JamesBryan mentioned as I’ve just seen I’ve missed that section...
I spun it through some rotations but only after I’d done the pulleys up, I’ll give that a go cheers
The cam locking tool should loosely fit in after rotations have been performed yeah ?
Hiya,
looking for some advice on the timing belt on the f4r - I’ve changed the belt and installed a keyway’d pulley from the Megane. Used the genuine tools and all the torques set and rotated the engine over 2 reolvutions and rechecked the timing.
I’m on my 5th time of setting and resetting...
haha agreed they are loud, always fun to see how much bass you can get out of them on +22 boost, they handle the volume remarkably well for the size of the satellites. The small 5a fuses are a pain to find though if you overcook it !
When I first got mine I noticed halfrauds had some speaker cable in the bargain bin so I grabbed that and it's done the trick, might be worth a look.
Really love the Z5500's - Have you tried the secret menu and volume booster yet ? ?
Cars just ticked over 10,000 miles and in for its first service, dealership advised after I put it in there’s a recall on the Mk4 clio’s - apparently the rear seats are launching luggage out the boot in the event of a crash. I didn’t get a recall letter so it’s worth checking your VIN online to...
Just had mine in for the first service, is there an access port for the sump plug or is it a cladding off jobbie ? I noticed there was a port for the oil filter, glad some Japanese common sense finally made it into a French car ha
I was quite surprised the air filter isn’t included on a first...
