i think tony and a few others hit the nail on the head with suspension refresh, braided lines and good brake fluid, new discs and some decent pads and if you have enough left over some good tyres.
remove everything possible to loose wieght then go out and have fun.
thats basically how i used to...
as adam said i run 172cup front shocks, 182 cup rears and apex springs. i run the production spec so no power upgrades or lightning but can still mix it with the boys in the higher ranks with all the toys (except the class a boys with engine mods).
the car handles great. there is plenty of other...
just thought i would close this with the solution.
took it to mick at diamond motors, top bloke cant reccomend him enough. after a couple of hours and a bit of head scratching it turned out to be a dead ecu.
new matched set on and its as good as new.
cheers rob
right getting very f##ked off with this now, how can it go from working fine to being dead.
have checked earths and even fitted an extra engine to chasis earth just for the hell of it. no joy.
have checked the purple and white twisted wire from ecu which are good.
all fuses.
well i cant comment on road use as have only done track days but my experience is:
ds2500- was a good pad with good bite but did fade after long runs (about 15 laps) only lasted 2 1/2 track days
ds3000- didnt like these as seemed to fade quicker and only got 1 1/2 track days out of them.
rc5 -...
im having the same issues josh. got my box reconed now it jumps out of third. just check your mounts as i did have a similar problem last year and it turned out to be a knackered engine mount.
right i have a race in two weeks and the bloody car wont start.
it was fine 2 weeks ago at snett, loaded it up on the trailer and there it has sat since. i went to get it off the trailer today to swap the gearbox but it wont start. if you try to start it it turns over for 3 secs then stops, but...
not sure about the roadsport series but there is quite a few of us that race in the tricolore tophy through "track attack race club".
great friendly club and fairly cheap racing.
kind of, i looked at maybe making some for mine 182 non cup but the collar is too long for the 10mm spacers to turn a recess in the spacer to fit over it without cutting it down.
i am another tric trophy driver. it was my first year of racing last year and i have to say it was fantastic. a really good group of people, everyone happy to help each other out and really clean bump free racing (well almost). cant reccomend it enough.
removed engine and box to get the box refurbed.
removed aircon and pas to go to manual rack.
remove anything i can for weight.
lower seat for a bit more head room.
no staying prodution for next year but if not enough competition then will upgrade to pro plus.
would of loved to do snett but not enough funds with the gearbox issue.
no nothing like that. got to get the gearbox refurbed as starting to crunch so thought i would whip the engine out at the same time and do a little wieght saving for next year as there should be a little more competition in the production class.
you had any joy with with your rear issues?
