Well had my ards test today and i am now a racing driver.
next join the club and pay my race entry.
just a couple of bits to do to the car and should be ready for rockingham in april.
Will be a baptisim of fire as i have never driven there and its my first race, but what could go wrong.lol
ive not done one on a renualt but the ones i have done normally have a clip that holds the joint on the shaft. if you clean the grease away you should see it then use a screwdriver to spred it then it should pull off.
just looking at some of my vids. 182 apex springs ,standard everything else(decent pads) and some geo adjustments.
with slicks around 2.08 best time in summer
with maragoni semi slicks in the cold 2.11 but have fitted a cage . i think i did a bit better in the late afternoon with the rc8 pads in...
i have fitted mine below the air con unit. i made a plate and bolted that in to fix the switch to.
i used the space where the radio went to fit the extinguisher pull and the rain light switch.
i have now tried the re tuner and it wont connect to the ecu, so i think i might of fried the ecu when wielding the cage feet in(possibly but did have the battery disconnected)
right just been out again.
when you turn the key the lights come on the go off but it has the stop light, serv light, the one inbetween them, abs, esp and the handbrake ligh even though the hadbrake is off.
please need help with my 182.
car was fine all working ok. i have now fitted a roll cage, battery cutoff and now the bloody thing wont start.
at first it would do nothing, i would turn the key all the lights would come on as normal then click it to start- nothing.
my first thought was alarm so...
slicks are a different world. yes it has to be dry to get the heat into them before the start to grip propperly but do still work fine in the cold.
also on the plus side they are cheap.about 150 for a set of 4 on ebay. i normally get about 4 track days out of a set and you know how i drive.lol...
i get my slicks off ebay. usually about £150 for a set of 4.
my last set lasted about 6 track days. all i can say is awsome. just make sure you have new ball joints and trackrod ends, oh and some great brakes.
hi, now i am not sure if i am just being stupid but i was looking at getting a rear anti roll bar for my track/race car but looking at the rear beam it looks like it is in one piece, wielded.
so my question is how much difference if any would one make?
its a 182 sport non cup
cheers rob
i always use slicks on track, i just take normal tyres aswell if it rains.
but as said you will need better brakes to go with them and plenty of negative camber
if you dont ask you dont get.
i have had some cracking bargains over the years by being cheaky, and as dann2707 said people get desperate.
i once got £400 off a car advertised at £700.
give them a ring to find out why it was cat d first, and any other info you can get out of them.
if all seems ok ask if you come down with a grand cash will they let it go for that.
personally i have no problem with catergory cars just as long as you get them at the right price and you know...
ive tried brembo hc discs and ds 2500 felt good, minimal fade after long stints but only got 2 and a half trackdays out of them
next hc discs and ds3000 pads, felt good no fade after long stints and 1 and a half trakdays.
next i am going to try the rc6 with hc discs and hope to get more days...
fantastic adam glad you had a good day, any vids?
mine is still under construction at the moment as house improvments taken over thanks to the misses but have been given the green light to spend spend spend once i have got it done.
No need for a cage. Yes it will put more stress through the front end but if you refresh the front end then no issues.
They are dunlops I run. Lots of camber ont the front. Bit of toe out on the rear and away you go.
In france at the mo on mobile so will be able to go more in depth when I get...
