Bit of an update, had the car back on the rollers with the new intake length and seen a decent gain of 1bhp and 5 ft/lb of torque so the work wasn't a waste of time. Hopefully more updates this weekend.
Pretty eventful day today, not without a couple of hiccups!
Made all the pipes for the radiator, just need a few 90 degree rubber hoses to get that all done.
Made a coil pack relocation plate which has given me a bit more room and looks awesome I think.
Also had the pig of a job taking the sump...
Few more photos of tonight's work.. More to come tommorow..
Half of the pipes are made, and then made up a relocation plate for the coilpack.
Really very pleased with how it's turning out.
The length was 225mm from the head and is now 270mm so a fair difference..
Bit of a running update as we speak the radiator fitting/plumbing is happening, looking pretty swish!
Had my jenvey spacers back from being machined to suit ktec bodies which I decided was the best way to fit them.
So once marked up I can weld the new flanges on and fit them.. Along with making the airbox then. Hopefully get the airbox and cage in for French car show in 8 weeks.
Thought I had 2's but these aren't adjustable on the top for compression?
Only adjustable on the bottom which is normally for rebound but H/S is stamped on the knob so maybe some micky mouse rebound and compression adjuster in one?
Had a few hours on the car this weekend..
Managed to strip alot of unwanted weight out, fitted the mudflaps, made a couple of brackets to mount the aero catches so I could get rid of the slam panel, fitted the rear tow strap, also took my angled spacers for the throttle bodies to be machined so...
Still none the wiser, all I know is the back feels decent, the front is ridiculous for road/rally, I imagine very good for track, just dont want to buy some circa 275lb 9/10 inch springs to find out its still stiff but surely it shouldnt be. Il take the risk
Interesting, any idea why the front is solid? As is, open door.. Stand on the sill and bounce and the only movement is in the tyre walls? I got a feeling the springs are too short. Will try some 9" springs instead of the 7"s currently fitted on the front
