    ITB airbox design..

Not enough meat on the flange... *ahem*

    ITB airbox design..

I've sorted the problem out as il be using a special baseplate which will save me another 10mm space if I used an adaptor.

    ITB airbox design..

4 holes on the spacers.. 2 on the bodies.. 4 holes set at the corners so 45degrees. And the bodies holes are around 30degrees so they would fit if you rotate the spacers.. Need photos to explain haha.

    ITB airbox design..

Trumpets fit on the spacers, spacers dont fit the bodies though as the holes are different.

    ITB airbox design..

Hellooooooo spacers... Hoping to get a fair bit done over the Christmas holidays with this. The spacers are SF fitment so dont bolt onto the bodies so the filter back plate will be re-made to suit the bolt holes. Thinking of having a scoop from both front grills and then the bottom...

    ITB airbox design..

You just want one with a filter hanging out the front really ;) 306maxi spec here I come..

    ITB airbox design..

They are pretty well lined up! And I will be making a shorter rad of similar width but with a thicker core. Plenty of room for the airbox and an oil cooler.

    ITB airbox design..

It is alot better :) and it's a standard radiator fitted.

    ITB airbox design..

The slam panel will indeed be binned. Heres what the trumpets will look like with the spacers in.. *which ive ordered*

    ITB airbox design..

Hmm I'd like to have the clearance so I can play with different trumpet lengths, cutting the bonnet will give a total of about 50mm which is fine.
  13. ScottRallye

    ITB airbox design..

Thats 15mm between trumpet and bonnet, not much room considering the airbox still needs to get in that space aswell with some clearance of its own.

    ITB airbox design..

Checked out the 22.5 degree spacer on this set up. It brings the trumpets to near as damn it 90degrees off the floor which is nice! And theres about 15mm of room from the bonnet, il still have to cut the bonnet slightly to have the clearance that I'm happy with.

    ITB airbox design..

Oh I was looking at where they join with 4 bolt holes... Then noticed you only use the 2 to bolt it on like a standard trumpet. Thats ok then :)

Very interested to see a photo of that!

    ITB airbox design..

Just noticed this wont bolt onto my ktec DTH kit :( will have to get some machined up.

    ITB airbox design..

I do like the look of those spacers... Seems like the only way to go, il have to make a spacer at 22.5 degrees and see where that puts the trumpets before buying them. Whats the price on them as I cant find them in 45mm bore?
  19. ScottRallye

    ITB airbox design..

I am thinking angled spacers are the way forward as I can get them machined up easy enough, just worried about the change of direction would mess up the airflow.
  20. ScottRallye

    ITB airbox design..

Haha 120's would literally be out the bonnet.. Would also be 40mm longer than jenvey sf's with 120's though.
  21. ScottRallye

    ITB airbox design..

I absolutely adore the ktec jenvey kit... Not! As expected this is the issue if I ran 90mm trumpets. Which would make it 10mm longer than a genuine jenvey kit with 120mm trumpets.. Cutting needed.. Lovely. I want a fiberglass bonnet so was thinking they wouldnt have as much inner...

Filter is here so now the playing starts.

    ITB airbox design..

Ordered a custom filter.. Rolling road done.. My standard 182 was 175bhp Current Clio 172 is 213bhp 169 torque, the figures on this rolling road are pretty accurate. So thats the benchmark for any changes. Will get and make a radiator once the filter is here next week. Looking forward to it!

    Date for CSS14

CSS at Prescott hillclimb would be epic.

    ITB airbox design..

Well thats abit different fairplay, ringing up ITG to get a price on a filter today. Then have a good look at it all.

    ITB airbox design..

It would sound the dogs! And I do have stiff engine mounts :)
  28. ScottRallye

    ITB airbox design..

Atleast :p That was a joke mind.. Doubt it would make much if any difference. But I prefer this design and so do alot of engine builders.
  29. ScottRallye

    ITB airbox design..

I think it would cure alot of issues.. Will have to make myself a radiator aswell for more room. Yeah it does fly! 280bhp so no wonder why, airbox adds 80bhp so thats what I'm aiming for haha

    ITB airbox design..

Should be pretty sweet.. Rolling road tommorow before any changes are made for a benchmark. Currently using an ITG sausage filter.
