Airedale Race Components do them do a search on yahoo, beware they do scratch very easily and IMHO are for race cars only.

BHP (Brake Horse Power) or HP (Horse Power) is an imperial measure of power defined as 33,000 foot*pound/min, or 550 foot*pound/sec. The equivalent in metric units is 76.0402 kg*metres/sec. The "metric" or continental measure of horse power known as PS (PferdeStarke) in german or CV (Cheval...

    172 Cams

My guess is the std ones are good for 190-200bhp with suitable inlet mods and management system. This theory is based on the vauxhall 1600 16v and 2000xe engines giving 160bhp and 190 bhp respectively on just TBs and management, the engines were untouched internally. If you fitted cams it...

    maintenence cost: williams/impreza

Parts aside the biggest cost is fuel, they use twice the amount that the clio uses but although fun arnt twice as fast.

    maintenence cost: williams/impreza

Your looking at a ballpark 2x what it costs to run a clio IMHO at least and thats from experience of 2L. turbo 4wd cars. There good fun though.

    PX value

Glass guide says £8000 ish and thats what all the dealers use so i doubt it would vary much dealer to dealer. Sell it private.

    Speeding at 22:40hrs

It would be more like 31-32 at an indicated 35, well thats what my road angel says.

    Trophy upgrades

I run them on the 205 rally car, great pieces of kit. £750 ish for the fronts, I guess the clio would be similar in price. What you going for? something with replacable inserts and 2/1/4 springs?

    Trophy upgrades

Ledas fail too quickly, anyone in the know uses billies. I dont know whether they are available or not though for the clio.

    1.2 to 182 Q’s

A car only goes as fast as you want it to, it doesnt matter how long you have been driving IMO as long as you get used to it.

    182 Brake Upgrade

The service from Godspeed is very poor be warned, I have the abusive emails to prove! Quoted a week for the work to be completed the parts turned up 2months later. The only saving grace was the quality looked ok.

    biggest brakes

I can check which calipers he has but they were expensive, circa £1500 each as they have gold plated titaniam pistons. They are gravel spec, ex Mitsi WRC or Scooby WRC i cant remember.

    Racelogic Launch Control

For that money I would buy a LSD, Im a natural cynic and i dont believe the hype. I could see the need if you have no talent and huge BHP monster but the Clio isnt that IMO.

    Trophy a no no

Just buy the suspension when yours dies, thats the plan with my 172 best of both worlds then. The fact is most cant drive at the std cars limit be it 172/182/cup etc etc so the even if its 2 sec a mile quicker most would never know. I agree with you that its not a significant enough jump to...

Plastic tray beneath engine - functional

A flat bottomed car will create less drag than one with lots of bits hanging down. If it did nothing do you think they would have fitted it?

    Racelogic Launch Control

CCC magazine wrote an article a few years ago and found control via the right foot to be quicker point to point even in the wet. IMHO you would be better off buying good tyres.
  27. stu8v

Plastic tray beneath engine - functional

Definately not pointless, it will make the car faster, give better fuel economy, keep the engine bay cleaner to name a few.

    Well worth keeping it.

Silver Wide track as per rally cars. Good brakes (not that the std ones are bad) switchable ABS M3 CSL type seats (failing that look at any other such as Recaros) Lower seating -3" to 4" Optimum A/B road handling as thats where they will be used most! Sub 1000kg weight Must...
