The fuel vapour breatehr system takes vapour out of the tank into a charcoal canister and basically controls the amount of vapour......either bled into the inlet manifold or atmosphere.
The hose from the tank goes to the canister, then out to a T peice which goes one way to the solenoids...
to get 300bhp on that engine you need to at least be running a cam profile similar to that off the clio trophy cars, the twin plenham setup as the std manifolds are crap, but i think the MK2 V6 has a better manifold, different valve hardware, headwork will help.

Now THATS traffic, not to mention the uni is on the roundabout with 2 exits....so you only got 2 ways into it....and its alwasy blocked! lol
Could be a number of things which would need looking at.
Firstly it could be a simple injection computer fault, a coolant temp sensor fault, an air leak, MAP sensor fault or leak, ECU speed info fault (speedo cable connection), ICV fault, potentiometer fault.
You dont have to get headwork, the cams will work on their own.
But, consider that roamer is making 212bhp on std cams, its the std inlet manifold, and part port work which is restricting the power make on the plenham. So headowrk and manifold work would compliment it greatly.
Oh, and BTW...

Short journeys and unsufficient warm up can lead to lots of condensation forming over night, only for another short journey the next morn when it will take a LONG time for the oil to get sufficiently hot and evaporate the water.

Most places with laser equipment also measure camber and castor, but its only info as on almost all cars its not adjustable.
Camber can be quite helpful in the handling arena so its not the end of the world, factory specs dont have to be adheired to. Infact, more camber is typically a good...
