Trophy outside The Railway Pub in town centre - Saturday afternoon.
Silver 182 54 plate I think outside The Highway Man pub Saturday night, around 9pm.
Black 182 05 plate Asda car park around 3pm this afternoon.
I bought mine second hand with no splitter, but both cup packs and no screw holes in the bumper. I wondered if it had been in an accident at some point and the bumper replaced but I've seen a few about without splitters but with the rear spoiler so that sounds quite plausible.
So what exactly are these then? I used to get on Cavweb a bit as I had a couple of Cav SRi's and I always thought the ST200 was like a Vectra GSi with a few other goodies, but there was a few Super Tourings from memory - a V6 and even a 2.0, which may have even been an Ecotec from memory (hazy...
I marginally prefer the look of the Renault one and I paid £111 for mine new off eBay. However when you can pick up a Skoda one from Skoda or VW for £12 and they're nowhere near as stupidly brittle plastic, then I'd go with the Skoda one everytime - that's what I'm sticking with now.
I got mine from VW. Fit it the same way you would fit a cup splitter (clamp it in place and use self tapping screws into the bottom of the bumper, though you do have to cut it down a touch at the ends. For the money I dont think it's worth paying anymore, plus I now prefer the Skoda splitter as...
I paid £290 for a SS Scorpion 192 and that was about £50 cheaper in a group buy on here, but most seem to be around the £350ish mark from memory. I'd guess fitting would be an hour or and hour and a halfs labour on that, then you can get the centre section bracket off eBay for less than a...
Got a problem keep coming up in the cold weather with my engine management light and the last time it came on it got switched off and lasted over a year (was the pre cat sensor IIRC). Anyway it's been on twice in the last few months and I figured I'd get a cheap code reader rather than a RS...
What's the Gulf Competition 5 40w on special on Opie oils at the moment? Over the last two years I've done about 13k and changed the oil twice using the Silkolene off them, but I'm tempted by the price of the Gulf 5 40 fully synthetic as I'm about to order this week.
Not sure what it was - 51 plate, but had phase 2 rear bumpers and some Renault Sport (or similar) stickers on the rear quarters.
Couldn't see much of an exhaust so that and the plate thinking it may possible be a copy, but from what I saw it looked a good one anyway.
I was wondering that too. Mine seems to have a small blow under strain (like moving off), which it doesn't have when stationary. I also have a feeling (or rather I can sense) there's a bit of play in the mounts, so I was hoping an uprated dogbone mount or more may help cure these things.
Just wondering - I'm slightly younger at 36 with 6 years NCD and clean licence, but I'm limited to I think 6k miles and I use it for commuting (only 3 miles a day though), not garaged but my girlfriend is also on too (though that only added £30).
I thought the R5GT was a good looking car, definitely had a bit of road presence about it and it's a car I loved driving at the time.
Though maybe that tops the whole thing off - I think we just like different things!
I still think it's normally an ugly car. I place importance on that as you surely would when evaluating a car. You on the other hand insisted it didn't matter, made fun of the idea it did and then posted pictures trying to justify it and started talking about looks on other cars - wtf? Think...
I never wanted you to give a toss about it though, I merely expressed my opinion as you did.
You posted the picture to show how it looked, proving that although you kick up a big fiss about it, you actually do place an emphasis on how a car looks, otherwise you would never have posted it.
My argument centers around personal preferences. Yours seemingly centers around trying to humiliate me, to make a point (which you are spectacularly faling to do). Then you actually post a picture of the said car, to show you actually judge on looks too.
And regardless of what said African had...
You just spoilt any argument you had by posting the second picture, pathetic....utterly utterly pathetic.
As it goes I dont like them much, but that first picture looks ok. But why post a picture if your 'balance' comes from the driving experience and you dont think looks matter? Have you not...
Is this the best you can do?
Rather than actually debate, you generalise and give analogies like that?
The use of smilies shows just how weak your argument has got that you have to suppliment it.
Seriously - people like different things, get used to it.
You say "Call me old fashioned but I buy a car based on how it drives" well call me old fashioned but appearance matters to me too and if you think something is dog ugly why bother when there's so much choice out there?
Just face it - you jumped in with two feet trying to defend something you...
Fantastic bit of generalisation and jumping in without a clue there, well done.
I judge on many things, I just know I dont like the look of them, so it's a non-starter. Quite where the f*ck you're got the rest of that I've really no idea.
It's called personal preference - we all have it...
I dont need to drive one to know I dont like the look of them, thus wouldn't even contemplate owning one. They look like a typical Jap car to me - yeah they may be well engineered, but that's not what I thought about when I was a kid drooling at cars and it's not what makes my choices now...
My monthly costs:
Loan repayment - £141 (I did extend the term for other things too).
Insurance - £42
Petrol - depends. Girlfriend lives away from me and can do that trip maybe twice a month at £30 a time, but before that I'll put about £100 per month in.
AA - £7.** a month
Tax = (at £129 every...
