They are making the creaking noise after previously using the washer fix to quieten them so it's possible, but the knock is generally replicated when turning one direction, then the other at very low speeds/stationary and seems more central.
I'm not so bothered about the nipples, dont mind actually greasing them. Job done now, but it's not cured the low speed/parking knock anyway! Have to get someone to have a look at it.
Was on the back of a recovery truck when I went past in the works van at about 3.50pm. Looked a canny old mess, hope everyone involved was ok :dapprove:
Just picked two new track rod ends up from GSF and there's a grease nipple in the packaging of both.
Does the grease nipple need to be attached and the joint greased, surely it comes already done? Or is it just so it can be maintained over the years?
Never bought any track rod ends for...
I've seen two kits on eBay from a Renault specalist, one a two piece kit and one three....
Also seen them on Eurocarparts, which are cheaper - not really sure what to go for.
Interested in claying mine soon, well detailing in detail to be precise. I know people always recomennd things like Megs, but are these on eBay totally useless and what problems would they cause...
I need to determine what make off rack I have on my 182 FF as I need new track rod ends. I've done plenty of searching on here and read quite a bit about them, but what I haven't found is; where is the stamp/sticker that would tell me on the rack?
Need to know whereabouts as I've got no pit and...
Cheers for the replies guys, I've already been viewing that thread on detailing world too. I'm wondering though what would peoples choices be for a compound or even polish on a BG 182. Would you just start with a soft pad with something like SRP or with a compound like G3? And how about...
Hi, I'm pretty new to all this and I've searched around on here doing a bit of reading (and still reading) but I'm wanting to know if someone can answer me a few questions or give advice.
Basically I have a black 182 with plenty of swirl marks and light scratches and I've also got some front...
TBH that's what I usually done in the North East, just people started charging more to do it as I wasn't getting the tyre from them. Camskill have some Avon on for a decent price, wonder if they're any good.
I'm relatively new down here and I'm wanting a mid range tyre for my 182, anyone give any reccomendations on Tyre places which are good on price in the area?
Not yet mate. Bit skint at the moment as I've just started work after a few months, but I think I'm gonna take it to a local Renault specialist as now I'm down here I've got no way of getting under it.
Haven't got a video as I'm not really sure what to video, just a noise really.
When the front is jacked up and I turn the steering by moving the road wheels side to side it makes a scraping noise. When I move the steering faster using more power in the same way I can feel (and hear) a slight knock.
Just had the car up on a couple of jacks. Doesn't seem to be any play in the ball joints. When I turn the steering when I've got hold of the wheel I can hear a kind of scraping noise coming from somewhere beyond the track rods, but because it's only on jacks I couldn't get under it enough to...
Been trawling through threads to see what kind of things could be causing the knock on my steering, but wondering if anyone can give any clearer answers after a description. Basically there's a knock on the steering of my car (54 plate 182) when turning either way at low revs/barely moving...
Ah fair enough. I was just a passenger in a chavvy looking Vectra Sri supporting some family members on the way to York for the run. Was ogling the 200 and then the other two turned up and I was buzzing.
