Bought mine just over two years ago (3 years 9 months) for £5900 on 27k, dont think I'd expect anymore than £4000ish now on 39k and it's been serviced more regularly than it needs to (including both belt kits), only problem is it's black and being a Renault and that colour it shows any little...

5-40 fully synthetic is what most use (though this depends what part of the world you're from. As for brand - many get the Silkolene/Fuchs Titan off Opie oils or the Motul, some the Elf stuff from Renault and some use any 5-40 fully synthetic (i.e. Halfords) and just change it more regularly.

Was pretty easy enough to do, had to lend a smaller 3/8 extension than I had though.

Could it be made worse by worn engine mounts then? Mine only seems to be noticable as I first start to accelerate.

Mine seemed to be doing that, I changed it and even though it looks fine when it's standing, I still seem to be hearing a small blow somewhere near the front.

I was panicking mine was something nasty too, had a poke about and knew it wasn't the heatsheild, didn't think it was a mount, but couldn't see anything else. Now I'm going back out there to try and tighten the thing up!
