By request of Dan here are some extra picture's wich should help out everyone who has this problem.
Locate the Magnetti Marrelli Sensor on the TB :
See/Locate this ring arround the axle :
Then with a small flathead screwdriver and a hammer give some slight knocks on the "blades" (marked...
Nope the alfa's 166 are bigger.
Went to a mate this afternoon who had 406/fiat brembo's on his mk1 Cup.
I test fitted the Espace calipers on the 172 and he said it is NO problem that the pads are a few mm shy off the disc.
He judged the difference(with 280mm discs) and said that this is no...
Thats one of the reasons im leaving my brembo's the way they are, don't want to mess arround with the discs.
I searched but i couldn't find anybody who was able to balance the disc aswell, made my choice a bit easier ;)
Al down to the bracket you make, doesn't make a difference for wich calipers you make a bracket anyway.
For the ones interested in the alfa 166 Calipers -> PDF to the bracket design and dimensions.

This is NOT for the...
I got some Alfa 166 Brembo Calipers this morning for 50 pounds :D (couldn't let them go for this price......)
These are awesome, huge calipers wich should just fit in 16" wich the 300mm scenic discs.
I came across a bracket design (in pdf) for these on a alfa 145 aswell, half of the dimensions...
Ok assuming the lines are all the same for brembo's will it fit then ?
If this all fits its going to be a definate min. for 16" though.
This is on a 16" wheel
Looks huge and awesome though
Well plans changed again, regarding the advice to put on some better calipers.
I can buy some Alfa 166 Brembo Calipers for a VERY decent price.
Since i have to fabricate some brackets anyway might aswell go for some nice realy nice ones.
Yeah thats sound right for Ally. For steel you could get away with 7-8mm i assume.
Im going to measure the hight of the hub holes and then get a plate that thick.
Whith the idea i have in my head thats the only thing i need, flat metal plate 4 holes on the right spot and done.
Don't want to do more than this, will keep these discs.
Well i have thought an thought about it but im going to create some brackets instead.
I decided this because its realy easy to make one for these calipers.
This way you can keep everything the way it is and still have the awesome 300mm discs :)
Im going to make this from a piece of wood first...
I fixed the issue like this.
Remove the magnetti marelli sensor.
Under this you will find the axle that is attached to the butterfly valve.
Around this there is a small ring wich is holding the axle in place (stops it from going side to side).
On this ring there are some blades that are tight...
I agree with Chip, i wouldn't feel all to safe if i would do that. I'm going to drop the discs of somwehere this week to get them reduced, about every metal shop has the ability to do this ;)
Will do some measurements tonight.
I checked that but these won't work because they are 5 holes instead of 4.
Easiest to do is to get the 300mm scenic discs reduced/lathered, the rest of the dimensions are spot on.
Exactly Chip, if your going to go on this route you might as well go with brembo/wilwood calipers.
For me this upgrade is only interesting because of the price. For the total im now in for about 180 pounds in parts.
I triple checked the pictures and can now 100% confirm the pic from Noos is with the 280mm standard disc.
The pad seem to be partially over the edge off the disc when looking at his picture.
Secondly by comparing the picture from Noos to my own "pre fitment" pictures a few points show idential...
This will only make it worse ;) The espace uses 305mm discs. The reason it isn't fitting properly is because the discs are just a bit to big.
You need another hub or reduce the size of the discs a bit (i'm going down the second road).
Its beyond me how Noos got this to work and mount it.
After studying this picture from his topic, i am 99% sure he used the standard 280mm disc and not a 300mm one.
Will probably be reducing the diameter of the discs to let say 290 and then try to fit them again.
The metal shops should be able to do this :)

Bad news it does not fit directly to the hub :( . It does without the 300mm brake disc but it does not WITH the brake disc.
The bolts are just a few mm shy of fitting.
I dont have any time anymore now, but will give more information later today.
I already have been checking out all the options if this needs to be done and found the threads about this
If it turns out to be needed ill go for the 406 v6 mc (way more common here than renault sports) and fits straigt on aswell.
The issue with the pipe work can be solved realy easy -> two of...
