Done allot of stuff today :
For my m8's mk2 golf gti, replaced brake lines for goodridge ones and full fluid change.
On the sunflower :
fitted ph2 handbrake
fitted vibratec gearbox mount
fitted vibratec engine mount
fixed anoying rattle in exhaust ..... will probably come back but...
Lol yes i meant ball joints instead of cv joints ... :banghead:
But good to hear that there are no further differences !
The AP's are still going strong -> Awesome bit of kit !
I got hold of some wishbones from a 182 (phase 3 from 2004).
Im going to refurbish these and put new bushes in but i was wondering what the exact differences are.
I know they have slightly different caster (3.0 instead of the 2.15 on my phs1).
But i read that there is also a difference in cv...
Well i haven't encountered much more travel to be honest.
Was pretty sure i would need to upgrade the mbc before i even mounted them but im going to keep it like this.;)
Maybe the dot 5.1 made a noticable difference but im not an expert on that ?
Unless i come across an absolute bargain for a...
All depends on the type of aluminium you use and the thickness. These are realy good and strong.
Because the bracket is rather big an thick it should have no problem at all.
As i said, it already survived several trackdays :p
They've already seen a world of hurt there ;)
He is going to put them online asap so they will be available to purchase through his webshop ;)
As far as im aware, there should be 4 maybe even 5 sets still available.
Not needed i used the exact same brake lines as i did on the normal calipers ;)
Regarding the question for the type of aluminium, ill ask my mate as he made them.
The bracket has been made for 300mm discs. The obious scenario would be that pads would not be in full contact with the discs.
A mate of mine has done a few trackdays with these "street" discs and is realy pleased and satisfied with them.
The brakes did not fade !
Try to sandblast them that saves ALLOT of hassle and you will be able to remove all the paint. Spray directly to the aluminium :D
I was done within an hour and saved me allot of frustrating sanding down ..... ;)
Wanted to go with a full renault setup at first but it was to much of a hassle. A bracket had to be made for every option i came across (with 300mm discs).
Since a bracket had to be made anyway why not go for a much nicer setup ! ;)
Decided to go for this :
Brembo 300mm x 24mm (scenic) Discs...
The mate who made/sells the brackets, owns a (professional) race/tuning related webstore but hasn't put the full kits online yet.
So i cant give a direct link yet. But thats what they cost €95 ex. shipping.
I can give you the email adress so you guys can contact him directly but i can only give...
Well i have been pretty busy with some of the small things but the "Big Brake kit" has finally been completed
Wanted to go with a full renault setup but it was to much of a hassle and a bracket had to be made for everything i could find.
Since a bracket had to be made anyway why not go for a...
Really nice bit of kit this. Have been using these with solid top mounts. The ride is actually is actually allot better then the racelands i had with normal rubber topmounts.
Please keep in mind that these are not realy suited for trackdays as they are pretty soft compared to others out there...
I'll vote for yes, the rear bumper makes it allot more meaning business and is wider/lower aswell.
Please don't forget to buy the ph2 arch guards aswell the ph1 ones will not fit ;)
I have done the same to my ph1, in my opinion the ph1 front with the ph2 rear/sides would be :hail:Clio.
Yeah im going to give them a good clean and spray them red with the correct paint.
Found someone who can help me out with the brackets.
Here is an impression of how its going to be with disc ...
I have bought 2 sets from here (one as spare) -> http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130530893540&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:NL:3160
But these are for a phase 1 ! He has other options if you know the type of bulb you have.
Absolute bargain, work perfect and fit straight in for...
I had the same, replaced the complete topmounts+bearings but it was still there.
Then placed some home made washer in the same size/thickness as Dan mentions and it was still there.
In the end i just went for solid topmounts -> Now its finally solved.
I got hold of a set of 406 brembo calipers.
My mate (uses these on his mk1) is telling me that there are two different versions of 406 coupe's out there.
One wich fit directly on a mk1 and one with some more space between the mounting holes.
But on google i cannot find any information about two...
Nope with the standard 280mm discs as mentioned in the reply above ;)
These calipers cannot be mounted with the scenic discs without a bracket so that would be impossible to do.
The brake line thread of the Alfa Brembo's are identical to the clio's aswell, slowly getting there.
