Trim restorer Gtechniq C4 for an almost permanent restoration, Autofinesse Revive for a less permanent/temporary restoration. For the FMIC I guess Autosol metal polish to get a good shine, but is it meant to be shiny? Wet & Dry and Autosol will polish it up to a shine I suppose, but not the...
Treated it to some things.
Hammerite smooth silver for touching up the brake calipers, silver from factory but is just looking a bit untidy now. I'm guessing lighter coats for the best finish.
Paint brushes obviously.
Also got it booked in for the gearbox to be looked at and the glovebox to be...
MK3 scuttle panel has a known problem, take off the panel and there are a few rubber drains (3 IIRC). Pull them out towards you, theres a stupid flap on the end for no reason that stops water flowing out, I think its to filter leaves or something but its on the furthest end of the hose?! Cut the...
Always have to wait an age for the service guys to come out anyway, plus they're only open weekdays 9-5 when I'm at work most of the time so I'm limited on time :(
We need a sticky of "things to do to a Clio" as this is asked way too much!
Cosmetics: Silvervision indicator bulbs, HID's if you have projectors, Heko wind deflectors, lower on springs or coilovers.
Performance: Filter, exhaust, remap but not sure if this is the best route for a GT engine.
Fair enough actually they do seem a bit useless sometimes! Will have a talk with them tomorrow and see what they say. It's only 2nd though and only when cold, 10 minutes later it's fine :( Only a tiny crunch too tbh just a knock of the gearstick and a bit of a crunch sound. Problem is as well...
I looked into this on mine, the flat cable plugs into a proper cable in the pillar to the left of the windscreen. There's three cables, live, earth, and switched live IIRC so one for when the door opens. I would have tapped into that and added the lights but I sold the car.
The Astra doesn't come with an undertray, so my engine bay is always filthy 😧 Thinking of making one out of 2mm or 3mm aluminium sheet as I can get some very cheap and can get it cut and anodised. Just wondering if this is a good idea? Will the engine run hotter etc with the bottom of...
Demon Clean APC and a microfibre cloth for me. Occasionally use some Trafalgar dash lemon stuff that smells awesome which the lovely cleaning bloke at VX gave me for free.
I had the same problem as you!!! My windscreen was awful, looked like someone had rubbed olive oil on the inside. No glass cleaners etc. worked, then @Daniel (love you for fixing my windscreen, in a totally hetrosexual way of course.) recommended AG glass polish, used some I had and it was all...
I assume being a VX garage that changed the box they'd know what oil  I need to talk to them and see what they say TBH. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas before I talk to them on what it could be. Seems weird with a new box, do you have to adjust the linkage etc?
I had top mounts go on my 1.2 MK3 that caused an annoying knock over bumps, I'd check them! Put your weight on the corner and push the car up and down and see if you can hear where the noise comes from.
Okay so for the Astra, not strictly a Clio but a gearbox is a gearbox I guess and this forum is great for help :)
Had a new box fitted in the Astra, and the new one crunches into 2nd when cold? It's fine when its warm, just when cold it crunches? The box is brand new, only just fitted. Before...
