OK i finally used the Oil additive stuff and i cant mock it. It has reduced the engines idle noise by around 30% id say and sounds more crisp but u can still hear that quick ticking noise but all the other sounds it makes are not as loud. I can recommend it for a smoother sound which also must...

I use Mobil 1 15w/50 in my 1.8 16v and is the best Oil ive had in it up to yet including Magnetex. Seems very thin compared to the GTX. Why does Haynes recommend 15w/50 and Reno 10w/40? :confused:

Just been serviced with expensive fuel & oil treatments, filled up with Mobil 1 so no problem there. Its that bloody Magnetex that has made my valves tappety!:@

This valve treatment doesnt say i need to change the oil, just run as normal, so ill probably use that. R u sure the petrol additive 1 wont quieten the noise? Thanks.

Finding a customer of theres would help you but they are probably the kwick-fits equiverlent to a mechanic id guess. There to make fast money and cant venture into anything too complicated.
