Welcome to the forum and congratulations! The paint area looks like lacquer peel which if im right needs to be painted, I'm sure someone more familiar with paint will come along soon though!
Dual optic options look great in my opinion amd mean HIDs can be used in future if you want to, ph2 rear...
Hi,
Got a Clio MK3, can anyone list every fuse in the car? Want to make sure I have a full spare set for if one ever blows! So far I have:
5A Mini Fuse
10A Mini Fuse
15A Mini Fuse
20A Mini Fuse
25A Mini Fuse
Which ones am I missing? I know there's some larger ones in the engine bay
Thanks
Just gave it a try with another step down box I have running 2A, safe to say my phone charges just as fast if not slightly faster than the mains charger. What phone do you have? I have a Galaxy S3 which has over charge protection built in, so I can charge it safely up to very high amps without...
Ah I did have a thought about doing this, I like how using the step down box (£4.04 on eBay) you can charge at 3A which is more like a mains charger than a cigarette lighter charger, alot of lighter chargers I've used charge my phone up slowly! Some only run at 0.5A
Not sure yet, got enough...
Thanks for the offer but I'm an android man :) need a micro USB cable and then ill need something to step down voltage and current to 5v and less than 3A so the charger doesnt kill the phone! Not sure if theres space under there to hide the box to step it down though so need to look again...
Helped alot :) Might use it again soon thinking of hard-wiring my phone charger cable into the same handbrake hole off the bottom of the cigarette lighter so I can still use the lighter for the sat nav if needed and to smarten up the look as I charge my phone in the car a fair bit.
A few questions :)
Firstly, whats the best acid based wheel cleaner for a once over to get rid of tons of caked on crap and brake dust? Wheels haven't been cleaned in months and soapy water isn't even touching them, neither is RDS. I assume an acid based wheel cleaner would make the biggest...
Changed the drivers side window switch as the drivers side window didn't work, fitted a glovebox light, stubby aerial, three light interior light to replace the one light interior light, LED bulbs in the number plate lights, ordered LEDs for all interior bulbs including boot, fitted glovebox 6...
Needs a clean, gears are slightly notchy but i'm told this is common :) Also handbrake seems to go quite high up, may get the rear brake drums checked, SE tyres do a free brake check? Anyone ever used this before?
Driving me insane now the car gets so hot left in the sun all day! Any tips for diagnosing what's up with the window? Looked at the cables in the doors, nothing seems up, motors all plugged in fine and nothings broken in the door, going to try a new switch asap.
It all started one day when...
Firstly, sorry to keep spamming with loads of threads!
Secondly, need to check a fuse in the clio fuse box by the steering wheel and noticed the door isn't lined up with the fuses! Anyone got any tips on how you can access these hidden fuses easily? Don't really want to take the whole dash...
Okay so for ages my window has been very on/off as to whether it would work or not, so I looked online and found a replacement TEMIC module thing on eBay, they showed a video of replacing this and showed it as inside the door, removed my door card etc and it isn't in the door the wires to into...
I'm properly stumped now. Fuse hasn't blown, horn doesn't work with the new stalk or the old stalk put back in and nothing looks unplugged to me... I don't get why my horn isn't working! If anyone else has any ideas ill be very happy! :)
Ah ill have a look, maybe have a practice go on the breakers car first ;) Excuse the totally simple question, but obviously you have to disconnect the battery for this, isn't there a particular order to take off the cables/put them on?
Anyone? Or anyone know how to take the steering wheel off in the best way possible, think I may have spotted a cable is loose joining the steering wheel to the column! Not sure how to connect it up though without removing the wheel :(
Haha, any other ideas? Just noticed there's two cables going from the back of the steering wheel to the column, one red on the left and one black on the right, are these for the horn? They look to be single wires not a bunch each has a small brass connector on going into the column bit
Thanks
Replaced my headlight stalk earlier and all went well and was very happy! Then a van was just about to pull out of a driveway into my path, tried the horn and it didn't work!
Double checked and everything appears to be plugged in right so ideas?
It's a mk3 clio
Thanks
Hey,
I've got a Clio Mk3 extreme WITHOUT automatic headlights, and went to a breakers yard today and they had a Clio that was identical to mine, without the auto headlights function, but the stalk has the AUTO button fitted on the end?
This confused me a little so I spoke to Renault parts...

Why is that so much money? :s
Hmm got a problem now where the drivers side window opens/shuts maybe two out of ten times pushing the button? And, I'm not sure if its me looking for issues or what since the headlights keep going weird, but I swear the windscreen wipers keep going off when they're on their slowest setting/the...
Ah okay thanks for that :) ill check them over and just scrub them a bit with a wire brush/wire wool and electrical contact cleaner when I buy some? By the switch, do you mean the stalk?
Thanks
Ah right, ill try and pick up some electrical contact cleaner ASAP and try that out, what am I looking for with earths? Is it just a cable that I assume is bolted on?
For the door thing, on Mk3's (Never owned a Mk2) if you have the headlights on and turn the engine off, the lights stay on until...
Looked in the engine fusebox and didn't notice anything, can you take the board out and look underneath easy? Didn't want to just tug it!
Where about are all the earth's? :o
Thanks :)
