Might try that :) Ill talk to Matt first as he knows his stuff (Don't want to keep asking and being cheeky though!) Then order some oil from Renault Wolverhampton who offered me a good price :) Don't fancy doing an oil change again but suppose needs must! Does all gearbox oil absolutely reek?
Ethan
Right gearbox feels notchy slightly, has done slightly since I got the car ages ago but its gotten worse since this new oil was put in, could it be the oils too thick? Basically if I slow down for a junction and go to put it into second it seems fairly hard to put into second you have to push it...
Re: Im a massive tw*t. Urgent help needed please!!
Got a mk3, it said on Halfords website and castrols oil finder use 75w90 so I did? Matt@codered says it might be a bit thick but hes finding out for me
I take it the gearbox oil was the right oil? Its a 1.2 mk3 I used castrol 75w90 as its what halfords and castrol both said online, just first and second feel a bit stiff today?
Done the engine oil now and it was between the min to max line last time I checked and I added about 300ml so hopefully should be on the max, filled the gearbox oil with the castrol stuff until it was coming out the hole and did the nut back up. klm182 no difference to the gearbox from the oil...
I guess, lesson learned I suppose! Hopefully it won't take too long with the hose tomorrow and I can get it sorted ASAP, meant to rain all morning :( Is leaving the bonnet up in the pouring rain likely to be a problem? I assume it would be as its obviously covered for a reason?
Swore at it as I realized I undid the gearbox plug and drained the gearbox oil out into a filthy container rather than the engine oil, first time ever doing it! Renaults a bit weird for putting the gearbox plug right in the access hole, but my own fault as i'm a total novice! Tomorrow will be...
"The hardware faults always been there, including during my warranty and when you sold me it after testing it before sale" ;) Trade descriptions act? Haha maybe a long shot!
Ah okay :) If I was starting a collection id definitely get a couple of those drying towels as it really amazed me how much they can absorb leaving the car totally dry, and for only £2.99 each with free postage! Meguiars tyre gel is good, used that a few times now, just gotta be sure the tyres...
Hmm not sure if thats serious or not! Didn't seem too helpful haha!
This drying towel is amazing though! http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0030B9U6Q/?tag=cliospnet01-21
I dry my whole clio patting it down with this and I reckon it could do another easily!

Got a breaker bar arriving soon, just bought a torque wrench too so will hopefully be able to take it off with the bar, if not then ill get someone to buzz it off. Got that last side undone I originally posted this thread about, didn't come undone with an airgun just spun around, so I held the...
