Agreed im ruling out the 10w60 option but I'm liking the idea of a 5w40 or 0w40 ... Just scared of the 0w being thin and it using loads of oil but as it is it dosent use a drop I've never topped it up in the past 12 months it's great ....
Hmm yeh I was thinking about the warm up time but I was also thinking about when warm would there be any real extra protection ( on a track day ) for example or on a really hard spirited drive ..... I'm trying to pull data sheets on the viscosity at temperatures of certain oils to compare but...
The 10w isn't going to be an issue as I have all the dealer service history and up untill my ownership it's always had. 10w40 ... However the 60 operating temp is a thought as will it be to thick for the dephasar and muck up the vvti ?
I'm thinking of changing grades because of what the car is used for ( abuse and track ) it gets used daily but it's going all out and oil is something you want to spend good money on and have the best so why not.... What do you think of the 10w60 as a normal engine dan?
Any one running any of these oils ? Any advantages im
thinking about going for something like the 10w60 but im
concerned over the 60w when warm
being too thick, what's people running other than standard 5w40 ... I do apologise for grammar but my phone screen is cracked and playing hell :(
Tissue bud I think he needs a towel ..... Any nice massive flat spots?? I like the sound of my 172 with a decat I love a loud car but the flat spots are crap .... If I could be bothered the cat would have gone back in months ago
Gunna be honest stripped out is the way forward ... Go on a track day up against a 106 rallye or gti there so light and agile and are nippy they seem to keep piping up near bigger stuff..... If you want it to go faster on budget stripping it is the way forward coupled with some light bucket...
Excellent work, some people are Absoloute vile just imagine what their house would have looked like.... Good job mate I'm sure they'd be over the moon with the results know I would
As above really who's running this set up? What did you buy and where from it's going to be for my phase 1 :) and where did toy take the pressure sender off ? On the Saxos I know you can undo a bolt on the head and thread the pressure feed in.... Info and part numbers Pawwweeze :)
Sounds good to me :) just out of curiosity how much dan do you charge to install this kit? I'm thinking I could wait a month and have it done properly and not have to fuss about :) ......
I'm looking at the pms shifter too what's it like I'm thinking that's a deffo buy .... But I'm also looking at silicone coolant hoses or the aircon delete kit .... Hmmm :) just need to see what the fitting of the delete kit was an on the drive job or if it was a total ball ache lol
Any one fitted one ?? Fancy getting one the end of the month as it's something I want to get gone... But how hard is it looks simple untill it goes into blanking this and cutting that?.... Reviews please it's being removed to save weight
As an opinion I have the spax Rsx kit and rate it great I've had no problems I've got the inbound spring on the rear because I was too tight to buy the others ... It gives me the height I want I like it reasonably low. And I have the stiffness set to 15 front and 17 rear and it's bumpy on the...
Yeh I've checked all that it's all been cleaned and cleaned again :( when opening the throttle you can hear it grinding against the housing .... For what I've seen I'll get another one and it'll be nice to have one in the shead I suppose
It's not the spring it's the actual butterfly it's moved and you can see on the housing where it's catching it's ground a bit away I'd sand it off but then it's going to screw it up ...
I know but my theory is for now a 2nd hand one will get me by a few months if it only lasted 3k would be ideal :) agreed on headlamps tho no amount of sanding and polishing seems to make mine any better really
Lol fair shout these will be direct from renault not ecp tho ... The company will use it's buying power to get good discount through renault and they'll buy a few and add them to the catalog they usually buy stuff in 10-15s to test out the sales ... And we will see :) I'm going to get a 2nd...
Managed to do some wiggling on this today.... I work for ecp and emailed my prod manager on this they've managed to sort summat with renault £175 + vat for a brand new body :) I'm waiting for a conformation email tomo to let me know some part numbers that will work on our system ....... :) so...
Fair enough well is there any where on here or any one who reconditions the o.e throttle body? And is well good ? I'd soon rather pay and send mine off than have to fork out £300 for a new one :(
Okay so after tonnes of cleaning etc it's still apparent that my throttle
body is nackered and well you can see the wear on the inside where the butter fly is sticking... So looking. At a new body or a recon one ... On ebay there is a 64mm one £65 recon and return as the spring is not my issue...
Tried a temp switch ? As that controls fueling when it's cold aswell to act as a choke" if you will ..... Sounds small to cause such a bit problem but it's usally the little things that do this
Just get the powerflex ones don't get the black series as I have the black dog bone mount and the whole car vibrates now there to stiff for everyday comfort. Unless you're cool with that sorta thing
Money's abit tight this month as I have had loads of bills like loads so I need to try and fix mine as best as possible and then the end of the month make a purchase I don't want to be messing people around asking the to " hold onto it " im just not that guy :)
Okay so had the it all apart this morn seems to be like Russ said the butterfly is sticking open feels rough in the housing .... What's the score bit of scotch and just polish it smooth and hope for the best or is the only option to wait for a new body ??
I don't think it the cable as it moved freely when pulled it's messed up I think my only option is to get one direct from Renault but even thru work we don't get much discount :( I work for Ecp and it's a shame it's not the later fly by wire as I could get one for a good price :( arh well price...
Okay so usual old trouble with the ( stickey ) phase 1 throttle... Mines a bit wiered tho every now and then when pulling to the light the revs rise they get stuck at 2k but seem to rise to 3 it take a firm blip of the throttle and they go back Normal it's gettin a bit annoying now as I just...
