Rustys u mean? :(
CLIO16V_BOY, it was the identical problem to urs, even down to it being the off-side inner boot! Gator had ripped causing leak. Reno said it was leaking pretty bad & quoted me 200 for the work to be done. Got it done at a decent local garage today for 150, lucky otherwise...
I suspect it is the oil leaking tendencies which cause it, says me who has just spent 200 quid getting inner end of driveshaft gator replaced due to it leaking gearbox oil. Hope this helps any1 with a leak near the drip tray.
The drip tray is the plastic bit i ordered from Reno which is...
Whyd you go through them so quick? What BHP is ur 16v? Cheers.
Surely jus buy the clutch which will handle the highest torque. Or is this not a standardised measurement?

Hi,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to your email - we are very behind and have a lot to get through.
The coilover kit we supply for the 5 comes with 250 LB, this is the same for the AVO kit so im also confused.
regards Andy
Humm...
Another phase 2 box has gone, seems like clean16v was right in saying the phase 2 boxes werent as good as the phase 1s.
Does this seem right to all u Valver owners?
2lt Valver!
Cost effective, 170+ BHP; beat every lightly modded 172 with a fast road cam package, & comparitivly reliable or the BBT Turbo conversion but BIG money but then it will be a monster! ;)
Nice 1 mate; ive got Magnecor 8mm as they were cheaper than the original leads & MUST be better. Stupidly loud ticking noise is the fact that ur Oil is too thick when cold (GTX); i solved mine by using Mobil 1 which is expensive though.
If the engine hasnt had oil & fuel treatments then it...
The depreciation ur talking about is relativly low! 20 months, as in coming up to 2 years, going from 3k to 2k isnt bad IMO. Did u get it cheap cause it wasnt in great nick hence new box & clutch?
As for the Cup well i simply cant afford a new car & if i could realistically afford to, id get a...
Personally i think the 16v looks good as it is but blue flick paint would be different. ;)
If i had that sort of money id maybe have a respray or the 2lt conversion, but i do like the subtle stylish flick paints at the moment.
Wheel bearing sounds like. Is it a huummmmmm ing noise?
Front seems higher than the rear? Never heard that before. My Valver has a much bigger gap between arch and wheel at the back on stock suspension.
Must be very common then, but rather be safe than £500 short! My shield was cracked & repaired with some tape so ill get that replaced too. Like i said my box feels fine 95 percent of the time so probably just the linkage & ill get it topped up with oil aswell.
The cost of owning a 16v is worth it for the comparitive rarity of the car IMO, its just the fact that most people think it is just another slow Clio & dont know off its abilities, he he. :D
Malice; if the rain doesnt form droplets on ur car then u dont have a layer of wax between the cars bodywork & the rain; so its not protected against the elements! Or am i talking boll*cks?
