    Be prepared to be shocked...

Yep, they are anthracite. And yes, the price I was quoted was just under £17 each. Last time I bought them in 2007 they were £9.36.

    Be prepared to be shocked...

I was going to buy some centres, but I've got some silver ones knocking about so I might just spray them. Anyone know the paint code? Edit - found the code, Ixell 205-110

Funniest Thing You Have Been Told By A Dealer...

Me: Can you check this part number please. Parts Monkey: No, what part do you need and what's your registration number? Me: I have the part number here on a Renault invoice, I just want you to check it so I know it's the right part. Parts Monkey: I can't just check the number. Me: I'm going to...

    Be prepared to be shocked...

Thanks for the positive comments gents - not that I expected anything negative here on turinisport.net. Safety Devices - bought through Mark Fish.

Turini's fitted. And yeah, I know it needs a splitter - smashed it to fook a few weeks ago.

    how wide Trophy 182

Sort of, my bad. All 182's with cup pack suspension and the Trophy's share the same hubs. The non-cup pack suspension 182's do have different hubs, and I'm not sure if that affects the track or not.

    Radio code

Have you got the radio manual? It runs through it in there. I can't be bothered to type it out, but will if you haven't got it.

    how wide Trophy 182

I've got no idea about the 172 cup, but the Trophy is the same as all other 182's. Same wishbones, same hubs, same wheel offset. The end.

ECE approved harnesses are what you're after. Get a copy of the Demon Tweeks motorsport catalogue, there are plenty listed in there.

Spring Rates - Standard vs. Aftermarket

I asked the experts ages ago on the RenaultSport forum (expert panel - think the guy's name is Allen Collen?), they gave me the answer, but I can't remember what it was! Ask the question again on there. Edit - don't bother, I've just asked again. Will post up when I have the answer.

Hankook RS2's as an everyday tyre

They're doing well! I think they're great to be honest! Give me a couple of days, I'll try to work out how many miles I've put on them as I didn't make a note of the mileage when they were fitted. I'll compare the tread depth to the rears that were fitted at the same time.

    Brembo's, bit concerned.

I'd suggest trying to find another 197 owner in your area who's willing to take you out. Shouldn't be too much trouble through here. The brakes should be good!

    Cool Mods For Skint People....

I thought the answer to your post was reasonable and good advice to be fair, especially when this is a thread about cost effective changes. If you want to buy your options are many, any car dealer for any make car as long as the size is the same (excluding those Vauxhall alloy look-a-like...

    Trophy Project 40/500

Nice project. Are you sure you want to ditch the power steering? It does have its benefits (and I also know that running without isn't a problem) when it comes to catching slides (seen your vids!). I remember speaking to Mark Fish about the failing power steering issue ages ago, he was sure he...

Torque of the devil?? Anyone been there?

I've just been talking to a friend who had his Fiesta RS Turbo mapped at Torque of the Devil - he said they were excellent and he would go back and use them again and again. I went out in that car after it had been worked on and it was incredibly smooth, so much more tractable than it was...

New Clio 182 "Cup" - how common is the colour???

I bet you're no fun at a party. Yep, I edited the levels. One of those colours you need to see in the metal/plastic to get a good idea of what it's really like, and the sun needs to be out. I'll see if I can dig up an unedited version later.

    Seat Harness

Very nice, but not road legal. Don't worry about it though, think you'll be very unlucky if either a police officer or an MOT tester picks up on it.

    Seat Harness

The part of the harness that causes legality problems is the buckle. Aero style buckles are not strictly legal, but mine passed without any issues. Most manufacturers produce a harness that has a legal buckle, and the Demon Tweeks catalogue states which are which. As for the picture above -...
