Parts are more expensive if you want genuine Renault or high performance parts but then that's obvious with it being a higher performance car.
Fuel costs are barely any different, about £10 a week difference between my 172 and my old 1.2, and that's running the RS on V-Power. Like Martin said...
Have you given the throttle body a clean out recently? My 1.2 started this carryon, throttle body off and a good wipe down with carb cleaner and it stopped it.
That wouldn't really make sense either.
Spend £3k on a car she knows and loves and has spent a load of money on already
OR
Sell it and buy a car she knows nothing about it's background really and then spend £2k getting it resprayed a different colour

Nice one! I can understand why you went down the conversion route, if it wasn't for the fact I didn't trust anybody near to me to do the conversion my old non-sport would still be with me now running F4R power.
It happens because the car is now spewing out emissions because it's decatted, the post cat lambda realises this and thinks there's something wrong and throws the light up on the dash.
