Glad you changed that! Hayabusa's the only one on bodies isn't it?

Sounds like when I was there! Gary's Picnic 2006 - 16th July. It was silly hot! Think my car was saying 34 degrees. 15.077 @ 90.18mph. Car was totally stock back then.

A friend of mine is well into his MR2 turbos. Best he's seen running a standard turbo is 12.8 - however it also had 320bhp.

Matt, have you seen any difference in times between strips? For example cars appearing to run faster at either Santa Pod or York?

Hankook RS2's as an everyday tyre

No problems with ultimate grip and as said previously it's an improvement over the PE2's. The sidewalls are stiffer and that's affected the ride, but with the suspension I'm running it's barely noticeable. It's difficult to give an opinion on turn in performance as I only ran PE2's for a day...

    AST coilover spring identification

Ok, so they are as follows: Front = 170-60-70 Rear = 200-60-51 So at an educated guess the first number will be the length in mm. The second number must be the spring diameter. The third number would be the spring rate in newtons. So... Front = 399.574lbs Rear = 291.1182lbs Sounds about...

    AST coilover spring identification

Will take the wheels off (again!) tomorrow, only just sorted the brackets out today - no rubbing at all now. Will post here with the specs when checked.

    AST coilover spring identification

Ok, thanks. I'll try and have a proper look at to what's written on them soon. Your car's looking good by the way!

There are three numbers written on an AST coilover spring, what do they each mean?

To have or have not Spigot Rings

In my experience they seperate easily from the wheel, but are a pain in the butt to get off the hub (and on for that matter!). To get my plastic ones on the hub I had to resort to heating them in hot water to make them more malleable.
  12. Inferno

To have or have not Spigot Rings

The spigot ring is a very tight fit on the hub, there is no free air and no way it can move or deform. I don't see why you'd think the ring would enlarge? Once fitted to the wheel/hub there is no free space for it to move, it essentially becomes a part of the wheel/hub in a sandwich and it's the...

    Cant decide....

DS2500 all the way! You sure the rear disks need doing? Mine have still got loads of life in them and they've done 44,000 miles. Dot 4 will be fine for what you want. Dot 5.1 needs changing more regularly - it's something to do with water absorbsion, but I can't remember exactly.

    What's my number?

All they should need is 185/55R15, the only other thing I can think of is the speed rating - i.e. W.

    People with very low suspension...

Like a bit of an idiot, I hadn't thought about doing something pretty obvious. If I adjust the dampers to be a bit stiffer it should help right?

    People with very low suspension...

As far as I can tell it's for the bumper to bolt on to. After that happened the bumper had been moved out about an inch on that side. I pushed the bumper back in to line up with the wing (just slotted straight back withut a problem). I'm thinking about cutting more of it out as the bumper is...

    People with very low suspension...

Lol! I am. If it doesn't 'work' it'll get changed. If it can't run at that height and perform well it will be raised. I'm very happy with the handling with the AST's, and I didn't ask for it to be 'slammed' when I took it there, but I can put up with a bit of occasional discomfort for it to...

    People with very low suspension...

I'm on the hard AST option, stiff enough! Just had new tyres, so I understand that they're going to have a slightly larger circumference than the older tyres that came off. Problem is that the wheel offset and suspension design is slightly different between the 172 and 182. I don't get any...

    Harnesses

I think you must mean these... http://www.tunershop.co.uk/Schroth_Belts/QuickFit_asm/ ...but it looks like they're car specific and the Clio isn't listed as far as I can see.

    People with very low suspension...

What did you do to stop the rubbing at the front? I'm only getting rubbing when the suspension is compressed at higher speeds round a corner. Today I've taken the wheels off to see exactly where it is and the arch liners were visibly scuffed just where the front bumper joins. I've cut that...

To have or have not Spigot Rings

How are spigot rings not load bearing? They may be weak on their own, but when sandwiched between the wheel and the hub they are as strong as they need to be. Spigot rings can be either aluminium or plastic, if I had the choice I'd opt for aluminium. I wouldn't run without them as, as far as...

Hankook RS2's as an everyday tyre

I didn't think they were that much stiffer than the Exaltos, especially after I adjusted the pressures down from the 40psi the tyre fitters had kindly given me! Certainly not anywhere near as stiff as the V70A's. With only 50 miles on them I've conducted my own personal traction test tonight...

Hankook RS2's as an everyday tyre

Still expensive! Blackcircles are asking between £110-119 depending on speed rating for a 205/50R15. I did look at going to 15's as an option, but I still balked at those prices. In comparison the 205/45R16 Hankooks are £65 from Camskill.
