From this - around £700 for something that works...
Future plans...
Get the black vinyl strip put on the bumper as in this PS - also get the front vinyl number plate on the car.
Get the AST's and rear cage fitted and decide on what wheels to get on it. Get 172 black headlights on and cup racer brake ducts. Maybe one day if I can ever...
Slightly off topic, but just tried my silver Renault Turini inserts in my 182 Cup alloy. It's too small for the hole, a little dissapointed to be honest, think it would have looked ok.
Anything's possible. The Renault caps have the diamond attached with spring clips, but I don't see why they can't be cut/ground down and stuck on to painted speedline caps. Having said that, I haven't seen the speedline caps.
I believe it is Bosch that manufacture the ESP in the Clios. But I will correct something from my last post - It's not ESP that hinders progress in the ice/snow, it's the traction control.
The thing about the video posted with the Jag going up the slope though, is that if the car is capable of...
I'm sure ESP is being constantly developed, there must be newer versions being developed all the time by Bosch and others. In my experience on the 182 the ESP hinders progress on ice and snow, but I'm sure that could be a different matter in newer or other cars.
Hadn't thought of asking Mark, will be on his case on Monday, if not I'll at least give Yozzasport a call. Failing that, has anyone got a picture of them not fitted?
Does anyone know if Yozzasport still sell the cup racer fog light brake ducts? Looked on their website, but couldn't see them listed. Or is there anywhere else they can be aquired?
I wouldn't say that electronic aids are the issue. In my opinion I'd say it's an inability (through lack of experience) to effectively judge what a vehicle is going to do on snow/ice.
The majority of accidents I've seen or heard of over the last couple of days have been drivers understeering...
Vinyl plates are illegal. I couldn't get any with either the British Standard number (reflective qualities) or the manufacturers postcode - hence illegal. Still, you shouldn't get any problems from the police if you stick to standard size and font.
Offset isn't always the problem. I had Rota Slipstreams in the right offset for my 182 (ET45) and they still fouled on the rear calipers. It was due to the wheel design and the spokes being further in (slight dish).
I'm a bit confused here though - surely the caliper is solidly mounted and...
Wheels look superb! Don't know if the bonnet looks different enough to justify the work though. Overall - excellent! Need to get myself some of those fog light ducts!
