IMO and from experience its worth it but not at Ktec's price and not if your only keeping the car for a couple of years.
BTW, you cant add up bhp mods and come out with a total figure. It dosent work like that ;)
They all came with CD changers what you on about? Unless it was imports that didnt.
I bought mine new and there wasnt any optional extras to choose from !! lol
Majority of Ph1's had alloy bonnets on up till about 2001 where the batch must have ran out hence the reason the later ones came...
I did a very rough experiment on my other car last year with the difference between filling up with £10 of fuel vs £20.
Got a extra 30 miles with the 20 quid fill up.
Quite suprised at the answers to this. I always thought aircon zapped a bit of power and in theory cost a few extra mpg (even when not in use) :S
Would you not get your cash back anyway with the saving on a cam / aux belt changes as the car would be classed as a Cup thus a few hundred quid...
Might be just a 'Clio' but have you read the numerous threads about back street garages doing cambelt changes? - They can do it yes but expect to loose 20bhp in the process due to not being timed up correctly.
Yeah fine without it. Mine hasnt been running one for about 5 years. Its only for security of the ecu. Think you need a special tool to undo them and most just get binned
If he has money and wants to make it faster, usual bolt on mods, cams, TB'd, Supercharger, the new inlet as already posted plus the turbo conversion are all options.
Cash vs gains is always going to be a issue no matter what car. (N/A form)
I can feel a difference when im carting about a 25kg bag of poultry food in the run about so back seats plus spare wheel out of a Clio wont be far off that.
What you can feel and what actually is happening (difference in recorded times say) are two different things
14.4 is my best time to date running full interior, ice and heavy Speedline 2118's.
Since that run iv lost 22kg's, gone back to stock lighter rims and found 6 extra bhp and roughly 10lbft of torque so hoping to shave a bit more of that this year.
This wont be far off TB performance im guessing? so added to those already running cam packages and other bolt on's could this be pretty near to needing uprated injectors for this group?
Crikey, this really does sound like a serious piece of kit.
Thank god for page 4 of this thread. Up to now i was under the impression this was simply a bolt on plenum onto the existing inlet as per mini valvers design :o
