Mine is doing the exact same twanging noise, I'm blaming it on (or at least I'm hoping it is) the poo Compbrake topmounts that are on the car.

Any idea what make of topmounts they are? Compbrake by any chance?

Also, just so you know, it makes no difference in price/difficulty on the 182s if it's a cup or not, as they both have air-con, only makes a difference on 172 cups where there's no air con gubbins to get in the way.

Not often actually, don't think anyone's ever said that to me. They do tell me it's French pish though.

Bare in mind only 2 of the people posted actually have their's off the road for it going wrong. The rest are through them doing engine conversions/crash damage.

Yep, you use everything from the standard setup apart from the big metal plate that sits directly on top of the spring.

Hmmm strange, I think I get better MPG out of Tesco super than with V-Power. V-Power does stink a lot more than Tesco stuff with a decat I've noticed aswell.
