^ nice one Matt when I come to buy one over Easter will definitely order from you. When you say "new" though is that to you or is it a new product, as had heard there were a few minor problems with the old lance?
Yeah everyone seems to despise Zymol these days, detailers seem to appologise for using it in many cases too!
I am not really sure why though, must have missed the news that day, Rich or Brazo should know though?!
Ali, have to say either get the pods, wheels and other features done in the same colour or leave it silver, otherwise you will unsettle the balance of the car in my opinion...I am not sure if the anthracite/ carbon look works on the Illiad though, think it works better with silver/grey/black...
Yep. They are very good at talking honestly about products too, think I had about a half hour conversation last time I ordered by phone! And they didn't try pushing products which I didn't need either which is good and shows integrity.
Dan, if your car is well protected claying once or twice a year at most should be plenty, and that would be with a mild clay like Sonus Green.
I would also consider getting some better shampoo. For the money I like Chemical Guys Extreme Wash or Citrus Wash, or if you have a bit more Victorias...
Yep your order is right. Basically, clay always comes before polish, polish always comes before glazes/ sealants/ waxes. Glazes/ sealant/ waxes should be applied in that order too (not that it is necessary to have them all by any means!)
If you are after a decent sealant I would just get the...
Sealant is another type of product mainly used to protect paint (although you can get sealants for most types of materials; bricks, glass, plastics etc - obviously specialist car sealants are different though!) They also add to the gloss of the paint, although in many instances mute the metallic...
I heard the capacity is now the same though (think HD DVDs have increased?) correct me if I am wrong though?
Region Free doesn't really bother me but I guess its a bonus though.
If you use SRP you will remove any other products on there, so yes you will need to reapply the EGP if you want protection.
However, using SRP every month is excessive, I use it on my own car 2 or 3 times max a year, with decent protection over well polished paint there shouldn't be much need...
SRP then EGP will be good by itself but if youcan top off with something like 476s or the Poorboys as suggested should add extra protection. Cleaning the wheels is something I need to do on mine too right now!
Yep SRP is fine by hand (although much better by machine) just get it down nice and thin, but use a bit of pressure on application (without going mental!)
Lime Prime replaces this though as you say, and then you can apply the wax straight onto it.
Kind person whoever bought you it though!
The plastic itself can become discoloured over time if its not properly maintained, in which case you will need a new one if you want it looking pristine again. Lots of plastics become "yellowed" over time, for example if you look at (especially older) microwaves and ovens, they will become...
You use the SRP as it forms a polymer layer for most sealants to bond to, if you apply a sealant (or most waxes) straight to the bare polished metal there is nothing to adhere to. SRP isn't really just a polish (in fact i doesn't really polish at all in the traditional sense) it leaves behind a...
They definitely do help, if nothing else the extra lubrication reduces friction and therefore also reduces chances of inducing swirls when washing, and I am only using the Super Spray at the moment still, a "proper" foam lance would be much better.
Car Wash N Wax I got mine from, I have two, one to take the most off, the other to finish with. Works perfectly and very gentle on the paint, comes highly recommended. Especially as a Sonus Der Wunder towel is about £20 by itself anyway, this method works miles better in my opinion.
^ Yep Richer Sounds are awesome. Either go there to sap their knowledge and buy there, or just take their suggestions and see if you can buy cheaper on the net, although anything like this I prefer buying from a physical shop rather than Wing Ting Tan from Outer Mongolia, as if there is a...
Looks nice mate, sure you will be sad to see it go though looks well looked after.
Is it debadged by the way or the badges been sprayed black? Difficult to tell!
At least 45 minutes I would say, although EGP is one product I would rather apply slightly too much than too little to ensure total coverage. I don't hate it like some do, but its not my favourite.
Also, I would say it is better to do one layer of SRP polished in well (if you are doing it by...
I only do mine in the dryer months as otherwise it just gets washed away, very annoying after something so time consuming!
When I last did it, it was with CG Silk Shine dressing I think, took ages but looked good at the end.
Toad tar??! :dead:
Er I would try a tar remover, such as the AG version.
Once you have cleaned it well make sure to seal it, which I am sure you know, as it will reduce contaminants sticking again (although with fresh tar it still happens )
