From David @ Car Wash n Wax...
Ez Creme Glaze II
Body Blitz Spray Sealant
Extreme Body Wash Shampoo
New Wool Wash Mitt
MF Applicators
MF Drying Cloth (which is MASSIVE!!)
Induro Wheel Brush (looks well made for the money)
All I need now is it to stop raining and a bigger garage!
Cheers for...
Do it! Obviously go with the simplest/ lightest methods first and use more "determined" methods should you need. Use the heat suggestion though, this will almost certainly help, whatever the hell it is!!
Good luck.
I see... well I will probably take your word on that then.
Once my new bank card finally turns up I can order my PC then too... happy days. That will really give the neighbours something to talk about!
"Have you seen that lad again. He has a machine now to polish his car! A machine!"...
And which one might that be... always interested to know, as difficult to tell before using a product as the blurb for pretty much everyone under the sun claims to be revolutionary in some way with some miracle technology. A lot of it is just marketing spiel. All the CG range I have used though...
Is that because it costs more or it is genuinely better?! :D Only joking of course, all your product recommendations so far have been spot on.
Man why do I keep spending money on cleaning my car... surely I should be squandering it on getting a beer belly or something like that!!
What is the difference between the two leather products you supply? Nearly out of the one I currently use. Will be working on leather in good condition, want a natural look. Which one would you go for? (sprayable or extreme?)
Merci.
I'd give it a go, sounds pretty bad already by sounds of it. Just be gentle and see how it goes, as it is a lot easier to apply more pressure later on, than to apply less pressure when you have gone too far!
Worse case scenario is you get it repsrayed.
I would have thought (difficult to say without seeing it) that it tar removed doesn't work then polish won't. Is it pretty hard to the touch too then I guess? Maybe wet sanding the top layer of it, then using a compound polish might work...
Superglue + paint = nightmare!!
Think if tar remover doesn't work, try some thinners, making sure not to leave on too long! Depends how thick it is really, does it feel raised above the paint?
Cool will do.
Any other new products you recommend? Also, is that Butter Wet Wax any good as a top up in between say the 50/50 just for a bit of slickness, or should I just stick to QDing in between coats?
Also, I'm still having difficulties with Paypal, if I make another order can I pay by...
I'm using Turtle Platinum Series creme applied by foam applicator to bring back the black and moisturise the rubber, then New Look Trim Gel x 2 by cloth for gloss.
It does look good but just in my head I prefer "specialised" products. You are right though it does last for ages. I might as well...
Is that tyre shine stuff any good? (Honest answer please!) - was either going to try this or the stuff Rich has recommended as that seems to provide a really deep glossy finish that is also pretty durable with minimal run-off.
Cheers mate.
Grey one has been ok on mine so far as far as I can tell, but will try the green one out next time. I have only clayed my car once though, don't think it is necessary to do often.
What is the difference in cut between grey and green do you know? I normally use Sonus grey and have found it to be pretty non-abrassive, just don't apply much pressure and use plenty of lube. Just like a Friday night... ;)
Yeh using clay will show up every surface imperfection, but as most people polish after claying as part of a "proper job" you notice every little defect. I did mine in the Sun a couple of weeks ago and was worried for a while! But a good polish later and seal and wax and only very minor swirls...
Quickly:
Shampoo
Clay
Shampoo
Polish (Autoglym Super Resin Polish for starters)
Sealant (Autoglym Extreme Gloss Protection)
Wax (Chemical Guys 50/50, P21s are good places to start)
Then windows, wheels (SRP, EGP) and tyres and plastic.
Loads of previous posts on each of the stages so do a few...
Without having used the Menzerna stuff myself, I'd say:
Clay
Intensive Polish
Final Finish
EGP
476, then maybe topped up with the BWW if you want for looks.
Sweet cheers Rich. Just a shame he can't do the PCs a little cheaper as would get it all from him. Might "suggest" a bundle discount though... doesn't hurt to try!
Cool cheers mate. Where can you get those polishes from then, they don't seem to have them on Polished Bliss as far as I can tell?
Quite looking forward to getting all the kit together and practicing on my Mum's Golf, although I am sure she won't notice the difference she thinks just washing...
